Boarding Bug - Correct Empire Policy Settings

Hi,

I am really struggling to find the correct settings for capturing fleets. What I want is for captured ships:
1. If higher tech, to dissassemble at base
2. If not higher tech, scuttle for cash

I cannot find any combination of settings that will achieve this. I have a saved game with a Hive ...

ORIGINAL: Shards
We usually release at 3PM UK Time. So adjust that appropriately for your own timezones!

That's basically 5 June here in Australia land. :(

RE: Multiplayer

<r> <QUOTE><s>[quote]</s>or PBEM. From what I can tell it isn't run through a server like Dominions - just sharing the game file. Up to 4 players can play and you can password protect your turn. Also have an option to not allow save-scumming during your turn - no 'mulligans'.<br/>

Multiplayer

Hi,

Are there multiplayer options or hopes to include them in the future? Or is this just intended to be a single player experience?

Regardless, super excited for this game.

RE: Invasion West Coast!

Just caught up with this AAR and what a treat it was! It was really cool to see a Japanese player to attempt it and make a serious bid at it too. It makes me wonder if a WC gambit is even possible, he seemed seriously dedicated to it and still couldn't get through.

RE: Semi OT - Turret Armor

<t> A penetrating hit on a turret would have the capacity to detonate the charge that is stored there and might lead to an explosion all the way down to the magazine? Magazines are kept deep in the bowels of the ship so it is unlikely that even a belt penetrating hit can breach the magazine. The ...

RE: Ground Attack (air mission) questions

<t> Terrain is a very big factor. Bombing can be very effective in plains. In Jungle its next to useless.<br/>
<br/>
An airbase/or port supply hit, reduces supply in the base by 1%! Bombing units makes their AAA shoot and use their supply that way. Bombing also forces a unit into "Combat Stance ...

RE: When are stacking penalties applied to a hex?

Just from my observations, it seems that over stacked enemies take much more casualties from land, air and naval bombardment as well. I always thought the supply penalties were always applied, like each turn?

RE: Really Struggling

<t> It sounds like you are doing everything correctly. Remember, you are giving orders, and when you run the turn, then those orders are carried out. So you are ordering the ships to load the troops and during the process of the turn, those troops will then load. Try running the turn and see what ...

That's not a particularly large amount of fuel, if you create a "demand" up in Townsville, it should flow up that way.

RE: New Zumwalt-Class Destroyer

What I struggle to understand is why there are so few CIWS on the current USN CVs. Missiles are pretty much the only credible threat to these things and that can be countered with just, *more* CIWS. Feels a lot like WWII BBs, oh, air craft, yeah, we need more AAA, didn't see that coming...

RE: Including a AV in a Convoy...

<t> Just from personal experience but having planes on ASW near convoys makes a huge difference. In convoy escort its about mission kill and this is largely served by having detection on the submarines. This is easily served by land based air craft. <br/>

I never know what to use AVs for but ...

<t> Please don't apologize for asking questions, this game requires it. I don't read the combat reports every time, you can get the information from watching the replays and the reports come at the end in the replay anyways.<br/>

<t> No and no. Aviation support is provided by "aviation support squads". One aviation support squad gives one aviation support. Aviation support squads are typically found in Base Forces and HQ, you can check any units TOE to see how many aviation support squads it has.<br/>

RE: Fatigue

For my air units I try to keep fatigue to be below 20ish. I accomplish this mostly by putting the maximum amount of pilots into air groups. Having fatigued pilots fly just means losing more air frames and pilots due to operational losses and it is usually completely avoidable.

If they can attack the target, they will. You may consider that random. I don't. But this is getting really semantic.
