CapnDarwin wrote: Fri Mar 06, 2026 6:29 pm I also posted a mod for the wrecks and crosses in the Mods sub-forum that improves the color and contrast of the kill markers, if you want to try it out.
Thanks for that, Capn! They are an improvement.

Oh yeah, these stand out way better, especially over craters. Thank you, Capn.

Re: Some reading material

This was recommended to me elsewhere long ago, but the book is what first came to mind when I saw the FCCW scenario of the same title. But now I have the pdf! Thank you!

Re: Craters, Crosses, and Contrast

The crater and crosses art files (simple .pngs) are in Modules\Common\Map Markers. You can clone the ones you want to change into the Modules\Common\Map Markers\Custom folder, and tweak the art file to improve contrast for you.
The game will prefer custom art from the Custom folder over the ...

Craters, Crosses, and Contrast

Craters and Red Crosses are difficult to distinguish. It would help if the colors could be adjusted on either of these map icons. Thanks for "listening". Great game BTW. :)

System slows down while browsing for scenario

Hello and Happy New Year, everyone.

Anybody else having system slow-downs after browsing up and down the scenario menu? Unless I pick a scenario quickly, I'm not even able to start a game because my system slows to a crawl. This keeps happening if I scroll all the way to the end of the scenario ...

Re: Wishlist

If I may add my own list (thank you OP):
1. Ability to adjust font size (I'm using a 27" 1440 monitor)
2. Larger radio button to close info boxes.
3. Info boxes that will "lock to grid" so they line up neatly along edges.

The Soviet military machine is focused on tempo, massed firepower and manuever.
Yes, this was a very nice read, thank you. Care to share literary sources? I may need to add to my library. :D

CapnDarwin wrote: Tue Nov 29, 2022 12:02 pm Wait for the first patch. That fixes an issue with the tutorials where the 1500 VP Warsaw Pact flips to the WP incorrectly (not captured or influenced at the end of the game). My guess is you would have won a few times, minus this bug.
That's great news, because...

Re: Bad habits Basic Tutorial for beginners

Ive played the basic tutorial twice as the US. The second time I tried keeping my tanks on the west side of the river to get that stand off range, to no avail. Both times my ACR and tanks are wiped out. It makes me think that the M1's are a little too "brittle" but maybe thats American bias. Or I ...

Re: Is this game worth $60?

Yes, $60 is a considerable sum, but there is simply nothing like this game on the market.

I appreciate the OP and agree with others. While $60, especially for a wargame, is nothing for me to cough at, I had faith that SS would at least be as good as RS. After seeing the very nice screenshots, I ...

Re: Open Letter to the Flashpoint Campaigns Community by Rob Crandall and Team

Congratulations on the release and thank you!

Cold War NATO vs WP hypothetical is absolutely my cup of tea and this series takes the "what-if" out if it and looks and sounds great to boot. Loving the much improved look and feel of SS so far. Gonna get some turns in now...bye.

Wow, yes I installed DO in its own directory and is loading up fine now. The DLCs went into the Armageddon directory and those scenarios are also available for play.

Thanks?

Where to install Da Orks?

<t> Hello!

Since it's a standalone, shall I install Da Orks in its own directory? Previously I installed it in my Armageddon directory(Armageddon\Da Orks)and may have been the reason my desktop shortcuts for it did not work.

On a side note, it's ok for me to install the ...
