IIRC it was reduced from 3 to 2 to help the Soviets since the Germans were very often advancing too fast.

Manual

I have just reinstalled the game and the manual seems to be the same at is has been since the beginning, they are dated 2019 & 2022.
Is there any updated version available OR a list of changes from patches ?

One thing I have noticed is that in the manual:

Personally I don't think there will be a WITE3, though I don't have any inside information.
This could be the last we see of this type of wargame for some time that tries to simulate on this scale with historical accuracy.
It is a shame as clearly the game has made great strides forwards since WITE1 ...

I don't think you can get enough interdiction to make a difference.
Think you would need basic interdiction on the rough hexes to add 1MP and perhaps 40 bombers or so for the open hexes to get it up to level 1-2.
So that is 2-300 bombers to make a line of interdiction that is only going to slow the ...

As Q-Ball says, I would recommend playing the attacking player if you are against the AI. So Axis early war or the Soviets later war. The AI is just not much good at attacking.

There used to be an exploit where the Soviet player could build airborne brigades, convert them to divisions and then build more brigades - thus circumnavigating the build limit.
Has this been removed in one of the patches or is it still there ?

In all cases, though, you can "Push" an SU down one level. For example, I have pushed an SU from a Front HQ in Kerch to an Army HQ in Sevastopol.

You can 'push' SUs across to Lenningrad when it is cut off.

Supplied units across the Kerch straight that are unconnected by land don't seem to be able to attach support units.
Is there a rule that for SUs there has to be a land link to the rail network ?

Not sure, this is something I'll have to ask Pavel about when he returns. Do you have a save we can use to recreate some attacks where it looks like a unit is left out?

It is a server game so no saves.
I set up a test bed to check SUs on different units and everything I tried all the expected AA ...

AA SUs

This is T9/10 of my game with Shupov.
I have two units in the hex being bombed, each with an AA SU.
It looks like 279 AA attached to the cav div is firing.
However the Marine AA attached to the Mot div looks to not be firing.
The same across all 6 rounds of bombing.

This doesn't seem right.

What I can say is that the system "works" if you lower the Pools
As has been said, the fuel system is really not part of the game.
I think it would take a lot more than tweaking the pools to make it work. One factor would be the dynamic between the Luftwaffe and the ground forces. Another would be ...

I've been halted with 10+ million casualties at the end of 1943 and just don't have the desire to continue with this.

Altitude is 25k so that would not account for it, also some did fire sometimes.
Maybe it is all RNG but only getting 14% firing across the 7 combats - more during the intercept battles than the bombing ones.
It does say fire is more effective from the target hex. I would take that to mean ...

This is T7/8 of my game with Shupov.

The Soviets are doing GA on 9th Pz division.
In the adjacent hex I have an HQ with 6 AA SU's, all with 12 x 88s each, so a total of 72 88s. Soviet bombers are flying too high for the 20s and 37s.
