Re: Oil, Caucasus, and gameplay

What I can say is that the system "works" if you lower the Pools
As has been said, the fuel system is really not part of the game.
I think it would take a lot more than tweaking the pools to make it work. One factor would be the dynamic between the Luftwaffe and the ground forces. Another would be ...

Game over.

I've been halted with 10+ million casualties at the end of 1943 and just don't have the desire to continue with this.
Am surprised as I thought you were winning, but thanks for an excellent AAR and good insights into handling the VVS.

Re: AA from adjacent hexes.

Thanks.

Altitude is 25k so that would not account for it, also some did fire sometimes.
Maybe it is all RNG but only getting 14% firing across the 7 combats - more during the intercept battles than the bombing ones.
It does say fire is more effective from the target hex. I would take that to mean ...

AA from adjacent hexes.

This is T7/8 of my game with Shupov.

The Soviets are doing GA on 9th Pz division.
In the adjacent hex I have an HQ with 6 AA SU's, all with 12 x 88s each, so a total of 72 88s. Soviet bombers are flying too high for the 20s and 37s.
In one of the bombing runs 8 88s fire, for the rest of them they ...

Anybody else having this, it seems to be only M60's AAR (all pics). Others are OK.

Experienced player, either side (CLOSED)

PM me if interested. Would want a reasonably fast pace of game; 2+ turns a week after the first couple of turns.
Am open to discussion on all points below, though if you ask to boost one side I will probably want to play the other one !

GA - maximum bomber 400 sorties per week against any hex ...

Re: Soviet airforce is op [PBEM]

I won't say I, could judge historical accuracy perfectly. I do not know all the figures for Soviet Sorties in 1941/42, so my idea is to fix the obvious imbalance/exploit you have shown while not making the mission completely useless (after all it's a game and we have a tool which should simply be ...

Re: The Sky’s the Limit- PBEM GC 41 jubjub (Axis) vs. M60A3TTS (Soviet)

I had previously tested the idea of multiple GS directives to increase the aircraft, but it didn't work. The AI decides how many aircraft to commit to a battle, and it does that regardless of how many aircraft are in multiple directives. It does seem that the more troops that are defending, the ...

I would say the same, disband them once combat is approaching unless you are certain they will not lose a battle.

Re: Germans on retreat abandoning fortifications.

The AI is not good at playing Axis and it doesn't cope well with being outnumbered in units. I would suggest playing the Soviets against the AI for most scenarios.

Re: Discussion thread regarding House rules for player vs. player.

+1.
I don't see how one could argue about the general Balance of a game without using all the assets and ending the war with 70k planes in the Pool (or tens of thousands of tanks, for that matter).

The issue with GA ADs usually lies in "GA Unit" and its complete devastation of single Units by ...

Re: Discussion thread regarding House rules for player vs. player.

Here are my suggestions:

TB control - Off
Miscellaneous Leader Deaths - Reduced
Amphib invasions - Limited
No temp motorisation - On
No airborne ops - On
Extended play.

Morale mod.
Germany/Finland/Slovakia - Early +0. Late +5.
Italy/Romania/Hungary - Early +10. Late +10.
Soviet - Early. +0, Late ...

T06
Disaster - Axis have pocket nearly 70 divisions.
It is possible to break the Kiev pocket for a turn but nothing can get out so they are all lost.
I conceded the game at this point.

Leumas and I had some discussion after the game.
Clearly I have played poorly and misjudged how far his Panzers ...

Re: tyronec (Soviet) vs leumas06 (Axis). No Leumas.

T5.
North. Pskov taken and a limited advance towards Lenningrad. Could be he is looking at the big loop to the East of Lenningrad rather than a frontal assault. GS not having a lot of effect but every little helps. No Axis fighters yet.

Center. They advance up to Smolensk but we pocket the lead 6 ...
