Re: Northern Fury 19 - Decapitation 23/2/94

you have to set to STRAIGHT in.

Your first shot is at max or 75% range I presume?

I think on the sparrows I have it set to just over 50% of max - 15nm or something like that. For Sidewinders it's on 2nm... It does make it really hard to get shots off... Mig-29 or SU-27 are significantly ...

Re: Northern Fury 19 - Decapitation 23/2/94

Agreed the Crank mechanism seems broken I remember 10 years or so ago raising it and the devs suggested it would be looked at.. but the crank should only just turn to still hold the lock from the Illuminating emitter... but it doesn't so you have to set to STRAIGHT in.

I also micromanage the "AUTO ...

Hey Bart ! Thanks for replying. No I completely understand. I know I'm not really playing fair, but I always take a few hours to make small tweaks... it's part of the fun for me... Re: Northern Fury 22 - Vagar Vengeance 25/2/94

I played this through yesterday and did enjoy it. I think the first NORTHERN FURY mission I felt I did ok on... (the small fillers don't count :-) )

Used the version from Steam Community collection with the later database.

I had to cheat by adding a second squadron of Buccaneers - my favourite 90 ...

Re: Northern Fury 19 - Decapitation 23/2/94

Blimey, I really struggled with this. The Jamming stops any phoenix or Sparrow from actually hitting their targets. Auto-Evade prevents the nato platforms from staying on-bore to guide, so The hit ratio to down one Soviet plane was something like 5 to 8 missiles... Assuming their "NON-EVADE ...

Re: Did Subs get Much harder to detect... or is it just me.

You've definitely taught me something there - Or at least reminded me to read what the sensors suite is ACTUALLY telling me.

I'll have to try again. Thanks

Agree on your last comment, it just does seem surprising that even the hull sonars cannot detect the large fast moving vessels across that ...

Re: Did Subs get Much harder to detect... or is it just me.

This is one scenario I was playing. Check the French Carrier group towards the south west. Doesn't take long for them to all die to wake homing torpedoes..

Second scenario, is frankly ridiculous. 688 Los Angeles Class sub north and slightly East of an Iowa Class battlewagon and the nimitz with its ...

Did Subs get Much harder to detect... or is it just me.

Soviet subs, doing 30+ knots at 133 odd feet. less than 5 miles from a frigate or destroyer... It just seems incredible that it's not detected. Haven't played for a while and I read that the sonar model was updated, but somethings not right. I have a fleet of asw helicopters up. Passive and active ...

Re: New Doctrines Fuel State (Bingo) vs Fuel State (Joker)

I'm sure there used to be an "IGNORE" fuel state doctrine. Which is really useful to stop aircraft deciding they need to refuel 5 mintutes before they get to the target... It's so annoying to manually micromanage their fuel state constantly when you know there are tankers they will meet on the way ...

Re: CMO RUNNING POLL - Gameplay feature requests

God yes please. Searchable platforms on the mission builder.

Would it be possible to fiter by homebase or landing platform too.. e.g. all aircraft on the Nimitz or a Particular airbase... I'm sure it used to do that.. It can be a struggle with 2000 odd units and facilities on the board

Re: [REPLIED] How to Advance a flight plan to the next Waypoint

Thanks for your reply. That would be the obvious thing, just delete them. but the Flight Plan editor will not let you delete these first 3 waypoints. Only Change them - I did try... If i change them to simple Ingress points. the aircraft is still heading back to wherever they took off from. Unless I ...

Re: [REPLIED] How to Advance a flight plan to the next Waypoint

Thanks for everyone's help. Been a while since I played so was quite amazed at some of the the changes including this planner which is frankly superb if you are launching from your homebase. But it's quite a frustrating mechanic when the aircraft are already up on-station.

You're right, I could ...

[REPLIED] How to Advance a flight plan to the next Waypoint

I have a flight of F-18 with a strike loadout. I have identified a new target when I create a mission to target this it creates a flight plan, which is brilliant, but it immediately turns the aircraft around and heads them back to point 2 which is a form-up point.

I've searched the flight plan ...

Running the new Beta and updated last night to the 0.8 build through steam.

Screen seems to have a weird red banner now that pops up and disappears when you hover the mouse over menus.

It reappears and comes back when you move the pointer.
