You are mixing up two different things... one is the current bonus you have when researching a tech which is based on the total bonus (negative or positive).

You then have the required level you need to research a technology, this is a different number and is placed in a different place when ...

Is there any reason the game has given you to think otherwise? Research bonuses should apply to all of your tech and you can see the total bonuses for a particular tech when hovering over it in the research screen.


When hovering above a tech in the tech tree, the tooltip only contain bonus info ...

In the save that I've already posted, there is one CS with depleted shield that is in a Radiation Zone (ship is Pristine Adversity, in the Pulmanar Void). All the others are in gravitic storms.

As for seeing the problem with more advanced components, the short answer would be yes.

It does make sense, and it matches what I'm seeing. But the game was started with 1.3.1.0 (Beta) and I'm now with 1.3.1.1 (Beta).

When you say 'old implementations', how far back are we talking?

Yes I can reproduce the behavior consistently (from the first save). The moment where the manual refuel order I had given to the carrier is cancelled, is when it's about to jump in hyperspace: it then change it's mission and destination.

Yes, they are in Gravitic storms. And they DO have energy (for instance: 228 on 240 energy), it's the shields that are at 0 (or near 0). And all that without anything damaged, destroyed or disabled.

- the issue does remain after reloading the save

I didn't mention that in my initial post, but the advisor suggests to build a monitor station in the territory of a faction that I'm not at war with. Are you saying that I should be able to do that?
