Re: Can the UK be forced to surrender?

I did not take London first. I took Manchester first and then Edinburgh + London on the next turn.

I replayed a couple of turns to change the sequence of capture, where I first captured Edinburgh/Manchester and then London on the following turn. Same result: the UK capital moves to Australia and no ...

Re: Can the UK be forced to surrender?

You are correct. Right after the UK capital moved to Australia, I do remember seeing the message "Production is lost".

I loaded my previous saved games and compared the UK builds and, indeed, every UK build due after the capital moved overseas is gone from the production queue. The UK has not ...

Re: Open Africa lands not flipping

Perhaps something similar to this rule from GMT Games' "A World At War" would fix this issue:

29.31 ISOLATED POCKETS EVAPORATE: The moving player gains control of an enemy hex at the end of the post-combat supply determination segment of his player turn if the enemy hex:
A. Did not receive full or ...

Re: Can the UK be forced to surrender?

I see. Basically, Operation Sealion has pretty much become Mission Impossible. Plus, no short-term return on investment (ie: no UK plunder, other than the pennies the Axis get for London).

I suppose it remains to be seen if the removal of the UK economy from the Allied ledger (and some of it being ...

Can the UK be forced to surrender?

Hi,

I cannot find specific rules for how a UK surrender is governed, other than a few posts on how the UK seems to no longer surrender.

A UK surrender does not seem to follow other Major country surrender rules. Section 7.5.1. states "The chance that it will carry on fighting depends on the number ...

Thank you very much for the quick reply. The event did indeed fire after I ended my August 30, 1940 turn.

DE 802 Not Firing

Hi,

USA DE 304 (Send Supplies To China Via The Hanoi-Kunming Railway?) fired on scheduled and was answered "Yes" by the AI. There is a corresponding entry in the Military Activity Summary stating "The Allies Send Supplies to China Via the Hanoi-Kunming Railway".

Japanese DE 802 (Shall We Annex ...

Canada -> UK convoys and deploying subs against it

I have some questions regarding the Canada -> UK convoys and deploying subs against it.

More specifically, I am wondering what is more efficient: having a sub raid the convoy lane, or placing it in the "Merchant Shipping Disruption" zone in the Gulf of the St. Lawrence?

The impact of a sub raiding ...

Re: One-turn Conquest of Poland

I just saw this passage in topic "A Guide to German Decision Events":

"But first a comment on Poland. I used to try & conquer Poland on T1 but there are benefits to leaving it until T2 or later. Russian mobilisation falls when they invade Poland. This is good news for the Axis."

This answers my ...

One-turn Conquest of Poland

Hi All,

I am new to this fantastic game and have searched the forum for the issue I have encountered, but could not find a related topic. If I am repeating a previously-posted topic, my apologies.

Here is the issue:

I was playing the 1939 official campaign as the Axis side, with the Allies ...

RE: Assertion Failed! error message when trying to load

<t> I re-installed Windows on my computer some months ago, to finally move to Windows 10 (groan). I executed a clean install of Windows 10 version 1909, meaning I formatted the SSD drive and installed from scratch (no in-place upgrade). I have had no issues installing and running CoGEE on my ...

RE: Really?

<t> I have noticed that the AI often will have a complete disregard to supplying troops on the offensive. In one game, I saw the France AI send 3 armies to attack Sweden and siege Stockholm. No line of supply. The France AI succeeded in getting the Sweden AI to surrender, but the foraging losses ...

RE: Consolidated Mods and Fixes

All these fixes/mod were built for the 1792 scenario. That being said, only the "1. Generals for 1792 Scenario" mod is incompatible with scenarios other than 1792. The other fixes and mods should work fine, so long as they are copied to the appropriate scenario folder location.

RE: Same port issue for Azov in Don Cossack proince

I looked at the COG2Provinces.txt file and noticed there is no entry for the Sea of Azov. Therefore the docks in Azov (Don Cossack) can have no sea access. As far as I can see, their only use would be to generate Naval Experience.

RE: Same port issue for Azov in Don Cossack proince

<t> I tried to move a merchant from the Black Sea to the Sea of Azov, and was unable. It appears there is no connection between the 2 seas in COGEE, which would render Azov of little value as a port.<br/>

In reality, the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov are linked through the Kerch Strait. I ...

I noticed that, too. To flip between stockpile and surplus numbers, I will click on the money icon only.

I'm pretty sure it takes exports and imports into account. You can verify by checking the numbers in the Economy Report.
