RE: Question on AI Allied Strategic Bombing Targets/Behavior

<t> Maybe I should restrict my Japanese bombers (playing Japan in this campaign game vs. Allied AI + hard difficulty + no withdrawls + reliable USN torpedoes) to just manpower attacks on Chinese cities if the Americans are mostly going to be doing manpower attacks on Japanese cities if they get B-29 ...

RE: Question on AI Allied Strategic Bombing Targets/Behavior

<t> Thanks, GetAssista<br/>

I notice in reading the Admiral's Edition manual that resource centers/sites now only produce resources. As I recall, they used to produce some supply points in the original WITP edition. This made them important targets for air attacks if you wanted to better ...

Question on AI Allied Strategic Bombing Targets/Behavior

<t> So, I have the original version of WITP, and I finally decided that I had the time to take the plunge and buy the Admiral's Edition.<br/>
<br/>
So I thought I would play a campaign game vs. the AI to acquaint myself to the "new" edition. I would like to know if the allies, when controlled by ...

Question on two guns

<t> So, I am a long, long-time player of the Close Combat series, and I just bought this game about a week ago. I was toying around with the scenario editor, and I see that the Americans have a 105mm howitzer you can add to the scenarios. The description for this gun says that it is capable of some ...

RE: construction vs engineer

Yes, assault engineers and pioneres reduce enemy fortifications. Construction and labor units do not. They all help in digging entrenchments.

RE: Compare to WIPAE

<t> The ground combat is much better. The air combat is generally better. it really depends on what your preference is. Naval combat (even air-to-ship) is heavily abstracted. The Axis have some cargo/transport ships, and no naval units. <br/>

You do not attack the allied task forces really ...

RE: Bombing campaign: does economy work?

<t> My experience in playing 44-45 and now the 43-45 campaign scenarios vs. the AI is that my production of oil/fuel/supplies does go up and down based on strategic attacks on these targets, and the AI generally does a good job of bombing U-boat and V-weapon facilities. It is far less consistent on ...

RE: Is it practical to send all your bombers, transport, patrols, and most recon to the east?

<t> If I am playing with the Eastern Front option, I do tend to send about 1/2 of my transports a East. I send a lot of my level bomber and remaining patrol gruppes as well once I get past the Allied D-Day invasion and if those units aren't worn down by then. However, I tend to keep the tactical ...

RE: Are there supply limits on different types of air HQs?

I was at supply priority 4 for the Jagd Corps I HQ. I increased that to level 2. I turned off training too, so hopefully that helps with some of the squadrons.

Are there supply limits on different types of air HQs?

<t> So, after playing a lot of WitW scenarios in the past couple years, I decided to really take the campaign game plunge vs. the AI. I'm in late September of '43, and so far, I am doing OK. The Italians are still fighting, even though they got invaded a couple weeks ago<br/>

RE: Are opposing diplo chits destroyed?

<t> Question on diplo chits. If you conquer a country that has placed diplo chits, do their remaining diplo chits disappear/expire? Logically, that would seem to make sense to me (We're not about to move our alignment towards Britain because a few guys at their embassy are still pressuring us ...

I think Logistics only gets you a discount on normal transports, not amphibious. It also reduces operating movement/rail movement costs.

RE: Strategy tips for Japan

<t> I move available garrison units not needed to suppress partisan unit creation, plus 1-2 more newly produced into Manchuria and free up most/all of the Manchurian army, leaving only units in the 6 cities you need to keep the Russkies from mobilizing. Also, there are 3 corps you start with in ...

Diplomacy bservations after a couple games

<t> Really good game! Obviously a lot of things are very abstracted, but that's fine. Even the AI plays fairly well. For the record, I didn't play earlier Strategic Command series games, so take this as you will <br/>

RE: East front units

<t> If you have some extra admin points you can send depleted Eastern Front units to the West, where they pretty much jump to the front of the line replacements and are quickly back towards full strength. Then you send them back to the Eastern Front to work on an incremental morale bump for the East ...

Three campaign game questions

<t> Hello,<br/>

I've owned WitW for a year or two now, and WitE before that, but I just moved on to the playing the WitW campaign game instead of the scenarios.<br/>

Questions:<br/>
<br/>
1. I burned up a lot of my bombers opposing Allied landings in Sicily and Southern Italy. I ...
