Re: [Q] Underway Replenishment - scenario design

Sure, this is a abridged version! The original is longer. It's written for me and not for general consumption, so may not be very easily digested, but I think it's not too cryptic and for sure has a lot of good info and some other info. Please ... also let me know what you think of it.

Re: [Q] Underway Replenishment - scenario design

Great. I enjoy the cargo/logistics aspects that have been added to the game.

Re: [Q] Underway Replenishment - scenario design

It appears you're not loading a matching Aim9x record. There are 2 in the Cargo DB... you need #945.

Re: [Q] Underway Replenishment - scenario design

In order for the ship to receive the items in a container delivered to it via cargo, you must
1. check the checkbox in the cargo mission that says "automatically unpack container at destination" in the cargo Transfer mission.
2. The ship must have MATCHING weapons records in the ships magazines ...

Re: What's going on with OpenTopoMap?

It is from Garmin Pilot... website , but was presented as an example of what one person might want, not a candidate itself. Not sure the where they get it, or if it's available at reasonable cost.

Re: What's going on with OpenTopoMap?

I would like a map that is simple, neat and clean. A bit more than the present Relief /Bath layer in terms of roads and cities/towns. It does not need as much detail as Open TOPO although it's not a bad thing. O-TOPO's inclusion of airports and ports is nice and it's included topo info is great, but ...

Re: Expanded Submarine Descriptions

I looked at 3 or 4. Very nice. I cannot vouch for the technical accuracy, but I didn't see anything out of whack. It adds nice context and a bit more information than just database numbers and I like it.

I would suggest that at the top of each you add something like

Uzabit nails it. Thank you, all files into a directory, unzip only .001 and play from there.

Re: CMO v1.09 Release Candidate (Public Beta) - Build 1817

Unable to unzip using 7zip on Win 11. The first file unzipped.... the other 3 refuse with an error message like this...
"Cannot open the file as [7x] archive....

It downloads as CMO_v1.09RC.7z.001 ... . 002 ... 003 ... 004 . ONLY 001 unzipped (I made a new folder to unzip them to).
1,2 and 3 are ...

Re: [WAD] Antenna Height and radar detection range

Dimitris,
I ran both online calculators WITH Refraction. The numbers are still off in CMO. Any thoughts??? I think CMO was unsing miles vs Nm and are thus off by 15% maybe?

Thanks

[WAD] Antenna Height and radar detection range

So just some testing and it looks to me like a Ch-53k at 566' over the ocean is detected by a type 052d at 40.2nm.... but radar horizon calculators say it should be 26nm ( I am saying the radar on the type 052d is 50 feet and the heli is at 566'. ) This includes the best case for the Type 052d as ...

CARGO: Show units that are carrying cargo

Hi,
In the AIR OPS window, when a list of cargo capable aircraft with cargo loadouts are shown.... Make aircraft with cargo ALREADY LOADED or BEING LOADED have a flag (asterik, Bold, underline... ?). ( I suggest using the "Time to Ready" for that unit to place the flag. ) This way, you can quickly ...

The houthis sink a few ships in the last year, maybe that info could shed some light. 13 seems a lot for a tanker, but we need some data to say for sure.

Re: How to unload Marines from helicopter

Get them to Hover at lowest altitude, may or may not help to cycle the "terrain follow".... then use "UNIT ORDERS" --> "unload cargo" and they will begin to unload (may take a few minutes or not, you'll see in the right sidebar .... "unloading cargo....xx minutes/seconds" if it takes any time at all ...

It is pretty incredible, 41 aircraft claimed... many assumed to be hi value. They only have (had) about 10 A-50's and it seems they got another one or more!. Hopefully a more complete list will be published, just looking at the video released it looks like 5 or 6 Bear bombers burned up. I hope they ...

Re: Naval and Defense News

That's a good read and many good observations. Certainly a glass is half empty view, but not without basis. I would say that although the brokered ceasefire was for US shipping.... Trump has said they agreed to stop attacking shipping in the red sea... and it appears that has been the case. So we ...
