Re: Any way to stop Ottomans from joining Central Powers or prevent fall of Basra?

If you give the Goeben to Austria and move the nearest unit in an optimized way, you'll reach Basra 1 turn before the event and prevent it. By optimized movement I mean figuring in supply next turn, so that you can forcemarch from the next position as much as possible. Best do a trial run in a ...

Re: Questions about naval mines

The Italian peninsula "sees" some of its adjacent sea hexes (can be checked in a hotseat vs yourself), maybe yours was one of them.

I know, made this mistake before in several Central Powers games and layed a mine directly at the shore and wondered why it never went off, until I played the ...

Re: Questions about naval mines

Thanks, for your reply. It seems that this Russian "special" mine in the gulf of finland was the source of my suspicion. It's also this mine which always goes off. You have restored my confidence in the manual. ;) Didn't want to sound harsh, I like the game a lot and even more than both of the WW 2 ...

Questions about naval mines

Hi there, just started a new 1914 campaign as the central powers and I have some questions regarding naval mines:

1) The manual tells, that every major nation can lay up to two mines and two more for each level of naval warfare. That seems not to be true. The Russians can lay two mines with 0 naval ...

I would rate the UK higher (9) than France (7).

Yes, I think these are very good changes and should be implemented in the game. What I am trying in my new mod is increasing the Defence value of Infantry Corps from 3 to 4 and removing their ability to De-entrench each attack ...

Whatever numbers you come up with, I think there has to be a balance between Entente (UK/Fr) and Central Power (Ge) artillery on the Western Front. At Verdun the Germans had more guns deployed, at the Somme the British and French did ...

grenadier did you consider nerfing Logistics tech also? As in increase the cost and lower the chit limit? Could make tech choices a bit more interesting.

RE: Adjusting Artillery

<t> I've modified my campaign so, that artillery starts with just a maximum of three shells + logistics level, which will finally result in eight shells with logistics level five. I've also reduced the number of chits assignable to one for Artillery Weapons and to two for Gas/Shell Production. The ...

Research with Austria and the Ottomans

Does Austria, the Ottomans, Russia and Serbia research higher tier research projects with reduced efficiency? Like 5%, 4%, 3%, 2%, 1% for tech levels 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5?

RE: Number off Naval Mines

<t> I'm still new to the game and played around with the editor. I saw that Russia has a build limit of 2, all other Majors (except Serbia of course) have 1. Also Naval Warfare increases this value by 2 for each level. Guess I'll reedit these changes back to the original values, because the number ...

Number off Naval Mines

<t> The tutorial says that each fully mobilized Major at war war can lay one Naval Mine plus an additional mine for each level of Naval Warfare. I was quite surprised when I ran into two Russian Naval Mines on turn two. So I tested it in a hot seat. Russia with Naval Warfare 0 could lay two mines ...

Personally I'd argue the opposite - all combat should have a minimum of 1 step per attack for both sides to reflect attrition and wear and tear. To compensate you could bump up the steps of damage to the unit being attacked in favourable conditions.

RNG Combat

<t> Is there a way to switch the off RNG for combat results? If I understand this correctly, the combat results are calcultaed and AFTER the calculation is done, it adds or subtracts one for each side.
