Re: DEI Diplomacy - Too powerful

I personally agree with EJR (meaning I do not like DEI's diplomacy case) because I find it contradictory to the level of strategy/luck that the rest of the game has.

What I'm trying to say is that in this game, the player takes tens and hundreds of little actions that all accumulate to the end ...

Re: Display of 10-hexes from Warsaw indications

Also, it would be very helpful to have it on all the time, despite the clogging.
I agree. Isn't it possible to reduce at 50% the red icon's size?

Re: Display of 10-hexes from Warsaw indications

update:

it seems that the red indications appear only when the 18-units limit has been reached/exceeded (and not before, as a warning).

Display of 10-hexes from Warsaw indications

V.17 states that 6 & 10 hexes from Warsaw will display on map, when relevant. I'm now into 1941 and I only see the 6-hex limit. Is there a way to make the 10-hex limit appear on map?

Re: Bring the Afrika Korps back to Africa!

I think there are 2 issues:

a) Decisions being meaningfull (i.e. presenting 2 valid choices) or not (i.e. one choice being obviously advantageous at all cases). For example, DE629 Annex Lithuania presents an interesting dilemma to the axis player, with both choices having pros & cons. DE636 Africa ...

Re: A condemnation on Long range amphibious transports

Perhaps, long-range amphibious transports shouldn’t be allowed to unload on a beach unless that beach is within X number of hexes from a friendly controlled port. This number, X could be modified by nationality and upwards with increased long-range tech.
I agree, it would be a great improvement.

Re: The World at War ELO Tournament

New ELO game started:
Moonchild (Axis) vs. Pekkavilamoura (Allies)

Game ended with Axis win . Nothing special, Chinese acted very aggresively at begining, so did the Brits at Africa. On both cases, after their initial wins, the axis counter-attack caused heavy losses and led to a quick capture of ...

Re: Got 2 openings: hosting

Hello EJR,

it's the first game I play after patch .17. I thought the game developers had mentioned at some point that they will make changes at Polish setup, so that 1st turn conquest of Poland was not possible anymore. Apparently, didn't happen.

Also noticed that the Rs forces are reduced? If I ...

Thank you both! I think both this hex and the one above (north) are both land/sea hexes, i.e. "Canal" tiles.

Engineers & fortifications on rivers

I've placed an engineer on a river hex and noticed that it cannot build fortifications on that hex:

Is that correct? Is river considered a "resource" hex (upon which fortifications are not allowed)?

China's surrender update pls?

Hi, a few days ago we had a bug with China's surrender after Japan conquered Lanchow (PBEM Moonchild vs Kaigab). It was posted by both me and Kaigab:

Re: China's surrender bug?

Russia didn't surrender and it is still fighting.
in that case, an added bug is that I (axis) got the message to divide up Russia, I chose "yes", howerer the Rs surrender did not take place.

Re: Amphibious landings in storm/ice

However from your screenshot the Amphibious Transport is not on an ice hex, but rather a 'storm' hex.
Ok, make's sense. If I understand correctly, in this case the ice graphics on the map (coastline / the target hex of the landing) are just decorative, i.e. they do not affect gameplay somehow.

Amphibious landings in storm/ice

I noticed that units can embark on amphibious transports, even if there is ice on the coastline and they can also disembark (amphibiously again) at icy coast. Notice that the weather is "storms".

China's surrender bug?

I'm playing a PBEM as axis and it seemed that Russia & China were about to surrender. However, in Feb. '44 the following happened:

- Japan conquered Lanchow during its turn. (the 3 Rs capitals had already been conquered in the previous turns, but Russia had not surrendered).

- At the end of turn ...

Re: Question re: movement of unit

When hovering the mouse over the 2 target hexes, different information appears on the low-panel:

a.jpg
On this hex, both images are "mountain" & "mountain"

b.jpg
while on this hex, it is "major river" & "mountain".

I'm not sure what does this difference means?

Re: Question re: movement of unit

I didn't think to check the weather (and cannot check it now), but it is possible and I guess the most likely explanation. Thank you Bill!
