<t> Some other ideas to make Sea Lion more difficult for Axis <br/>
<br/>
A) I think France starts with 3 fighters. Keep in same location but transfer 1 or 2 of them to the UK<br/>
<br/>
B) Move some of the bombers that Germany starts with to the production Que - with an arrival of 4 turns + the ...

Random Ideas

<t> 1) Seen alot of posts about sea lion and how it is dominate PBEM gains. An idea would be to have an invasion trigger a very early US entry into the war. I know is concern about England do gamey stuff - maybe some clause like the way Germany has to keep so many units within 10 hexes of warsaw. So ...

<t> This will be my final update.<br/>
<br/>
Using the 1940 start (as allies) I got a much more historical game then I experienced in my 1939 playthrough.<br/>
<br/>
France fell in mid 1941, Germany then conquered Yugoslavia. No DOW by axis on Spain or Greece - but they started invasion of USSR ...

<t> Romania will automatically export 40 oil to germany<br/>
<br/>
If you goto the Convoy report at the top left of the screen and look at the details of all the trade routes you will see it<br/>
<br/>
Also I read in another post that if Romania is out of oil for its units (uses 2 or 3 per turn ...

RE: House rules

<t> I started a new game as the Allies, I turned both the AI experience and logistics up one level. I used the 1940 start so Norway is occupied and Germany declares war on low countries first turn. <br/>
<br/>
Overall I think the 1940 start will lead to a more historical timeline then the 1939 ...

RE: 39 Scenario Balance Suggestions

<t> I think the only way game will be balanced is have different initial setups for games vs AI and a different one for PBEM.<br/>
<br/>
No comment on the balance in regards to PBEM.<br/>
<br/>
For play vs AI, I think the allies need a much smaller starting force or slower economy right at the ...

RE: trade

<t> The major powers can do (export) trades for both iron (production) and oil. Many of the minor powers have auto trade routes set.<br/>
<br/>
As the axis gains more members (romania, hungary) you will be able to do trades from the majors (Germany, Italy) to them.<br/>
<br/>
So basically the ...

<t> Every unit has an efficiency rating. (looks a little like 2 gears) At the start that will be close to 100%. However as you move and fight the efficiency will drop.<br/>
<br/>
When a unit is in supply it will slowly gain efficiency. However you can consume a supply truck to more quickly bring ...

RE: House rules

<t> As I said I think Italian option (vs the computer) is actually a detriment for the Axis. Italy contributes nothing to the war as it cant force the passes on the border, and it causes the AI to split the German forces between France, North Italy (where they get blocked in behind the Italians out ...

RE: House rules

Was going to give it a try, but instead I just used the 1940 start (which also gives Norway to the Axis)

That may be a better option for people who are looking to play a "historical" play through. Will post results

supply by air

<t> Could someone please explain to me all the requirements to resupply a unit by air.<br/>
<br/>
I know you need to have air transport.<br/>
<br/>
I have figured out how to drop my paratroopers (as Germany)<br/>

However the little airplane for resupply seems to always be greyed out. Is ...

RE: Need much better reports on opponents Turn

If you goto "log" or maybe "reports" at the top the screen, you can get a detailed summary of every battle

It will show the unit names, the combat multiper, the hex and the result

It is in there, you just have to select the prior turn not current turn info

RE: Suggestion: Neutrals cannot Disband units

<t> As I indicated in another post, you can just use whatever house rules you want and if you think that is gamey then just tell yourself you not going to do it. Obviously doesn't matter to AI or PBEM.<br/>
<br/>
It seems that some players do disband units (especially those that use oil) so maybe ...

RE: Is Iron working as intended or bugged

<t> OK it is very unclear to me how iron works.<br/>
<br/>
As I said Italy in 1942. I show production of 85 and have 21 iron to trade. So is my production 64 + the 21 iron for 85 total, or is it 85 production + the 21 iron for 106? I have tried tracking my production when iron is being traded and ...

RE: Upkeep Observation

It would be really nice if a report was available each turn to show where the upgrades went. Maybe not a pop up every turn but a report that shows how much production went to one unit. It can be really hard to get a sense of how much is required to repair all units and do upgrades.

Is Iron working as intended or bugged

<t> Im still not clear how iron is supposed to work.<br/>
<br/>
I am playing as Axis mid 1942 - Italian production is around 85/86.<br/>
<br/>
When I trade my iron away I see the production of the other nation jump up. However production for Italy is 85 regardless if they are trading iron away ...

Regarding tactics to counter subs, building escorts will damage the subs. So you wont sink them outright, but will cause Germany to have to cycle them back to port and then spend resources to rebuild. Not a decisive ...

House rules

<t> Was thinking of some "house rules" to help the 1939 start (as Allies) play more like the historical timeline. Basically to contest france and play my best, but make sure France still falls in time to keep some semblance of a historical campaign. <br/>
<br/>
Here are my ideas - looking for any ...
