RE: Tomahawk strike on maritime platform?

<t> Well,if its a moored oil rig in the real world I suspect you could strike it with a modern Tomahawk. But I suspect the game does not make the distinction between mobile and immobile maritime targets. Really something like an oil rig should be treated as both a surface and land target as it has ...

RE: Tomahawk strike on maritime platform?

<t> Because maritime targets move, and land ones do not! The modern variants of Tomahawk do not have seeker heads able to strike mobile targets<br/>
<br/>
The Tomahawk has had many variants over the years and in the past the USN did have a variant for anti-shipping stikes. Like most long-range ...

RE: Engage target Auto NEWBIE

<t> It depends!<br/>
<br/>
If the unit is unassigned to a mission and on a manually plotted course, it will not move to the target - you will have to do that. Once in range it will engage the target according to the weapon release authorisation for the relevant weapon against the relevant target ...

RE: Reassigning missions/loadouts

<t> I've been trying this and getting an error message in the load-out change scripts:<br/>
<br/>
ERROR: [string "Console"]:8: attempt to call global 'ScenEdit_ScenEdit_SetLoadout' (a nil value)<br/>
<br/>
If I remove the first 'ScenEdit' (why twice?) I then get the following error:<br/>

Reassigning missions/loadouts

<t> Hi there,<br/>
<br/>
Looking for advice - is there a script/s that I could use to reassign AI units from one mission to another. Ditto for load-outs?<br/>
<br/>
I'm trying to make an AI CAG behavior more realistic with multi-role aircraft...used for multi role!<br/>
<br/>
And whilst I'm at ...

RE: What am I doing wrong?

Also a strike mission may not launch if there are no assigned targets or the assigned targets have not been detected or they do not meet the minimum threshold if set above 'unknown'.

[Resolved] Error loading CMANO via Steam

<r> EDIT - resolved by reinstalling Windows.<br/>

Hi there, after a recent crash during play, I now cannot get CMANO to launch properly. <br/>
<br/>
At launch the following message is displayed:<br/>

The SSN patrol area boundaries are marked by the 'no navigation zones' which show up as red lines extending East-West and North -South from the centre of the TEZ. These are the historically correct patrol areas assigned by FOSM to ...

RE: Scenario creation accuracy

<t> I've been wrestling with the same question with my own current Falkland's War efforts. Even in such a well known historical event, some key facts (for game purposes) can be hard to find without specialist research. How many AIM-9L were embarked on the British TF? I could learn it if I went to ...

RE: New Scenario for testing: Falklands War 1-2 May 1982

Thanks - other than knowing the alignment and length of the runway at Stanley, I had little to work with in terms of the facilities. The image is really helpful, I'll have a play with the positioning.

New Scenario for testing: Falklands War 1-2 May 1982

<t> UPDATED 13 July 20.<br/>
<br/>
Updated version of the scenario fixing lots of little bugs and increased use of LUA to provide more consistent air tasking for Argentine units (I've not updated the Stanley airport facility locations as I didn't feel it made a significant difference to the ...

RE: Return to service?

<t> It is a general 'rule of thumb' that guides procurements and deployment planning for all classes of warship. Donitz used it in WWII when developing his estimate of how many U-Boats he would need to achieve effective tonnage-war against the UK. Other modern navies continue to use it, but with ...

Unassigning and Reassigning AI units to missions

<t> Hi there - a scenario designing query.<br/>
<br/>
Is there any way to have a computer-controlled unit unassigned from a mission by a given trigger to then be available to be reassigned to a different mission? Query applies to both CMO and CMNAO. I'm trying to make the AI opponents behave in a ...

RE: Scenario Question

<t> Like others have said, it is most likely because there is no Iranian ELINT/ESM capable of making the classification. A ground radar is just that - a radar and does not necessarily have an ELINT capability. You would have to see exactly what sensors are listed in the DB for that specific unit ...

RE: Please use this to post ready scenarios for Community

<t> So, to teach myself how to create scenarios, and beat the lock-down blues, I've started to convert the old Harpoon (boardgame!) scenario pack 'South Atlantic Conflict', which covered the Falklands War in 1982 into CMANO scenarios (I'm not splashing for CMO yet...).<br/>
<br/>
I've skipped the ...
