Re: Summer 42: Fall Blau - GC41 Rosencrantus (A) vs Tyronec, jubjub (S)

Your game is remarkably close to the historical situation. Your summer opening included. Luckily for you your opponent decided to stay close in the open, inviting the two pockets. The Northern one may be a 2-3 turn battle though depending on Soviet reserves. Great to see the AAR continue!

Re: Summer 42: Fall Blau - GC41 Rosencrantus (A) vs Tyronec, jubjub (S)

Compounding further on what I said above, let's take a look at the losses this turn.

G.PNG

In all the ground battle circles you see in the image above, many of those turned into routs for the Soviet units with losses of 4000-5000+. As a result the Soviets suffered massive losses of around 200 ...

As hoped, German forces absolutely destroy the prepared Soviet defenses and panzers have broken through 70 miles from initial positions. Elements of 3rd and 1st Panzer Army have linked up in a massive encirclement of about 18 divisions and 2 corps east of Voronezh ...

Recon during the air phase reveals that Soviet positions are quite in-depth as they probably did detect some of the build-up from their own air recon, but it does not matter. My divisions are rested and very well-supplied leading to CVs not seen since T1.

Re: An Opportunity for Payback - GC41 Rosencrantus (A) vs Tyronec, jubjub (S)

T51 - June 7, 1942:

Welcome back everyone, its been awhile since my last post but let's continue for now with this AAR.

The German 42 campaign begins this turn after about 14 turns of pretty much no action on the front. As a note the Soviets abandoned some ground east of Kharkov and German ...

Re: Let's Take a Look at Urban Combat Again

I mean captured from a gameplay perspective. The way it is right now no Axis player can ever take the city against an experienced Soviet player.

Let's Take a Look at Urban Combat Again

Previously the last time before urban combat was adjusted urban hexes were far too easy to capture and were actually a detriment to your defense to have them on the front line. Now after the adjustments were made it seems Urban hexes are now practically impossible to capture unless you have them ...

Re: GA is not intercepted, at all

Has the changes to auto-intercepting GA in the air phase been implemented since the last post? I thought there was but am not sure atm. Am asking since my fighters are also not intercepting any GA at all unless they are very close (4 hexes away).

Re: The End (T207)

4 – I ended up with about 15% of my infantry divisions on a TOE that meant they had no support squads in 1944 (this was corrected a couple of patches after we started – with hindsight I wish I'd realised the importance and gone back to restart) – but they became very vulnerable to routing and ...

Re: Axis allies useless?

I think they are moving in the right direction by increasing Romanian morale. They are still pretty much useless but can perform OK if they are the mythical 55 morale Romanians backed up by a German infantry division

Oh axis allies are 55 NM now that is very well deserved :)

AFAIK, the ...

TOE Strength Incorrect

The TOE indicator is saying that the 73rd infantry division is at practically at full strength while it clearly is not. The division is missing 44% of its support squads.

This weirdness with TOE and actual manpower in the division can also be seen in the 1st RM Mnt Div and Front. RM ID where they ...

41 1st and 2nd Wave TOE Problem

German 41 1st & 2nd wave infantry division TOE requires 180 infantry ATs but only ever fills up to 90, like all the other infantry TOEs. This doesn't have much impact on gameplay but prevents the division from ever being "100%" strength.

Re: Drama on the Danube (SI DLC) AAR (Beethoven Soviets vs Malyhin Axis)

Playing DotD myself, if romanian surrender triggers does it mean basically any units in the eastern parts of romania would be cut off? Seems to discourage defending romania aside from western romania which axis occupies.

Re: Leaders dismissed too easily?

I would say it's a bit different in this case because all leaders in the game are being dismissed due to bad performance while IRL some commanders were replaced because they were promoted/took a higher post, such as Von Kluge taking command of AGC and Heinrici command of 4th Army.

It is good to see ...

No more Soviet attacks have been launched since last turn. It seems safe to assume that the Soviet winter counter-offensive has come to an end.
