Re: How to get the game to run

Chris 21 - disregard. I was able to load the game at a full screen (no ability to tab) after I downloaded the latest patch (had no played for over 10 years). Hopefully it will run fine but at least the game starts on a full screen.

Re: How to get the game to run

Chris21 - thanks for posting. I am not fully following how I can fix my problem of the game not going to full screen. Can you post the exact steps on how to fix it. I am not fully following exactly where to go.

Re: Production Charts

Wiedrock thanks for putting all this together and for all your other (many) forum contributions.

I believe I had read that capturing oil fields does not reduce oil and gas production. So, the Axis never really run out as the Soviets advance and allies bomb the Romanian fields. Is that true of ...

Re: Command Battle Modifiers

For the most part, the penalties are inconsequential.

Does anyone know any player that would forgo adding units to a battle to achieve an adequate odds ratio simply because the units added will get a 16% reduction in their CV?

While it may be important to be aware that the amount of CV you think ...

Re: Exactly When Do Auto Victory Checks Happen?

Thanks for responding Joel. I figured it was at the very beginning, but the manual isn't specific, so I was hoping for maybe at the end or at the start of Soviet phase. Too bad because at the end of my turn 15 (H vs. H) I have 692 points and Voronezh surrounded. Most likely it would have fallen next ...

Exactly When Do Auto Victory Checks Happen?

When exactly does the Axis Auto Victory check happen. Is it at the very beginning of T16 in the Axis phase or does it occur in the Soviet phase of T16 or does it get checked at the beginning of T17. My guess is that it is at the very beginning of T16 (Axis phase).

Re: What's your longest campaign (PvP)?

Just finished one that went the distance to 1/1/45 and ended as a Major Axis Victory as the Russians did not take Berlin. We were playing on an older patch so there was no extended play. I suspect that Berlin had a good chance of falling by May as the Russians had recently breached my level 3 fort ...

Re: Road, Coastal and Position construction's

I asked a similar question prior, they repair what is damaged in the hex that they are assigned. the names dont mean anything. road units dont build roads,

Yeh, I got the same impression. That's why probably Manual does not describe the different between construction battalions.

I thought ...

Re: Berlin NSS Weekly "Sent" Freight Tonnage.

Won't putting all or many of your German and Polish depots on 4 reduce the overall amount of supplies that get to the front line depots. In essence, won't it clog up the more western train capacity or at least reduce it thereby reducing the total amount that can continue east to the front lines.

Re: Do artillery divisions require less ammo unless in an assault front?

Apologies for being a bit off topic but rather than starting a separate post I will ask here. What is teh best way to use the artillery divisions? I am thinking they will be most useful against dug in positions. Helping to reduce the fort levels as quickly as possible. Is there a better use for them?

Re: Auto RR repair and Lock HQ bugs

Thanks for for responding and specifically thanks to DekeFentle for the screenshots and tip you provided about Locking HQs in the command screen instead off the Game option screen. Using the Comand screen to Lock HQs in T1 (after assigning the OTs/RADs where I wanted), all but one of the seven OT ...

Re: Auto RR repair and Lock HQ bugs

I have been using RR support units attached to Corps HQs for a very long time. The only abnormal thing I have ever seen is them deploying beyond the 5 hex command range limit. Very rare but does happen. Non deployment has always been my own error or occasionally missed admin checks. I have not ...

Re: Winter Substitute AA For Tanks

Remember you cant assign those LW units to Divisions. Have to sit in the HQ eating up supplies. Better off in a TB somewhere.

Winter Substitute AA For Tanks

I am considering moving my panzer units off map for the 41 winter (I am playing axis) as they tend to just completely breakdown and to help with anti-tank capability, I was going to attach AA units that contain 88s to key infantry divisions. However, I vaguely recall a posting awhile back that says ...

Re: Ground Attack during winter

I am currently on turn 23 as Axis against a human opponent with the .52 patch. I have used AS sparingly. For about 8 turns straight over the immediate Leningrad area as an effort to stop potential air supply being dropped in and 2 various turns to see if I could stop some interdiction runs my ...

Re: HQ Overloading

Fair enough on your comment about the rifle and mech corps HQs disappearing. I would still use them but it is annoying when they just disappear. I believe another good use of the airborne brigades (or any brigade) in the early part of the war is to place them on FZ that you may have set-up to start ...

Re: Beta 1.03.03 and Air Superiority Mission in General

Short answer, yes. Long answer, no in 41. I won't get into the details. Now having said that AS was slaughtered as a thing to do with the air patch in March 23' time frame. This has pretty much made any aircraft in decent rest to now intercept " further " reducing the Soviets ability to ...

First off, great job Joel and the team. These changes look great.

My friend and I have just started a new game. We would love to have all the new organization changes but do not want to stop this game and start all over. Obviously, there are an incredible amount of changes but I cannot tell if ...
