Re: AustroHungarian Naval Units Ineffective in Raiding?

This doesn't just happen on the Cyprus/Greece route. It also happens on the Morocco/France route.

So, how do you explain the fact that when AH naval units are placed on a convoy route alone they have no effect?
No other nationality is beating them to the punch when they are there alone.

I would ...

Re: AustroHungarian Naval Units Ineffective in Raiding?

Specify, which lane? Was it actually sending MPP when the AH unit was placed. Was it active, not seasonal?

And did the AH unit have raiding enabled?

I assure you it is your mistake, as raiding with austrian units (serbian and egypt convoys) always works for me (if i go for it).

Re: Diplomacy hits calculation

Wether diplos work sometimes different than stated as research does in this game i dont know. that is a question for the developer.

To say it briefly, your math (0.5%) is still a bit off as probability is a bit more complex.

You have this scenario 1.(35*33)*(35)*(35*33) in your post
Just looking ...

Re: Diplomacy hits calculation

Hi, Sorry about the long post, explanation and rant about bulgarias mobilization events incoming.
the last double (?) chit i would not consider lucky. And your stochastic looks at the one potential exact path this diplo happened but leaves out many branches in the probablity tree, therefore the ...

Re: Ottoman unit in Basra before war entry

I should add to my comments above that getting a unit to Basra before the Ottomans enters the war also requires the Germans to send the Goeben to Pola, rather than Constantinople. The CP side has to slow down Ottoman mobilization by foregoing the 20 - 30% swing which they receive if the Goeben is ...

Re: Ottoman unit in Basra before war entry

I think I have a solution for this, that being to delay the increase in strength of all supply giving resources south of Baghdad until after the Ottomans have entered the war.

That way they can still send troops to Mesopotamia, but sending them further south, i.e. to Basra, would not only take ...

Re: Ottoman unit in Basra before war entry

It is the end of the entende turn January 2nd 1915 where the Ottoman join the CP. At this point there was already a corps in Basra. It impossible for the UK to send 2 or 3 corps there to conquer Basra and the Ottomans may send reinforcents until this could happen (Artillery levle 1 is not ...

Re: Experiences playing 1918 Ludendorff Offensive?

artillery is king in this game. air force becomes relevant espiecially for the entente mid game onwards.

but the early game is deiciding for the midgame and even late game outcome.

germany can destroy up to 6 artilleries the first turn which reduces ententen ability to counterattack the first 10 ...

Re: Looking for Strong opponents

I in 1914 prefer centrals but play usually both sides.

I would say mirror match, you can decide on soft production limit, fog of war and selling research, opening west or east.

If you want to spice things up we can say germany has to fight the british navy and capitulate britain, else no victory ...

Looking for Strong opponents

Hi dear all,
I am looking for rather experienced opponents to play games, preferably in mirror mode.
I on average can do more than one turn per day most days of the week.

I prefer the 1914 grand campaign and the 1917 campaign but i am open to DLC campaigns and other battle campaigns aswell.
I ...

Re: Official Strategic Command Tournaments

Hi Jazon,
I had 6 matches each until victory (despite some bugs which lead to repeated turns due to our game jumping from turn 96 back to turn 80 in the last one). I must say it was a nice experience and because i had a high score in the first game (#3 in balkans, felt i did MUCH better in tsars ...

Re: The UK Gambit aka 1914 Diplomacy to keep Britain out

Hi - that is a completely new gambit and a good demonstration of the scope for lateral thinking that exists in this game. However, it is hard to imagine that sinking that many German MPPs into buying expensive major power diplomacy chits to at the start of the game is a good investment. Germany's ...

The UK Gambit aka 1914 Diplomacy to keep Britain out

Hello, in a recent game i tried to keep britain out of the war as long as possible during an east first strategy as germany.
Key stats
Campaign date: 27 March 1915 (Turn 19)
Britain at 99%
Diplomacy (into britain) invested Ger: 1350, Aus 600, Tur 450. Fra 150. So 2400 MPP vs 150 MPP spent to keep ...

Re: Schlieffen Plan is a bust

Hello, it might be that we played but i dont have screenshots of it, so idk.

I tried east first only like 5 times but like 50 games west first. I deploy 1 corps and 2 cav corps in the west, the rest east.
I always send the decision austrian army to the russians and on turn 2 i send one german corps ...

Hello,

If you like, try to run the scenario yourself ...
