Re: The World at War ELO Tournament

Thanks gronivaure for a great match! At least I achieved the 1946 bonus points :D
Great combined arms warfare by the Axis, have to see how I can contain that a bit better in our rematch, starting right now:

New ELO: Pekkavilamoura (Axis) vs. gronivaure (Allies). Std ELO rules. Good luck!

Re: The World at War ELO Tournament

Can someone please explain how a game can end with a draw?
To my knowledge there can be an Axis or Allies major or minor victory.
If neither of those occurs, there is a tactical victory if Axis holds at least one of the key cities. Have I missed something?

Re: The World at War ELO Tournament

Love to read Umeu 's battle reports!
Would have been nice to have a Taifun-like 'official' AAR of this game.

Re: The World at War ELO Tournament

I don't think there is anything to worry about, there are a lot of new players around, all of them great people by the way.
If you look at the old ladder there were much more players listed but I would say 50 % of them you could write off, either only having played once or ghosted a game.
Of course ...

Re: The World at War ELO Tournament

My opponent play 1 turn since the 19/6. I have send him two privates messages (23/6 and 29/06). I don't have any answers. What do I need to do to finish the game?

Looks like your opponent is ghosting - which is sad because we all play ELO to avoid that.
To my knowledge the rule here is ...

Re: Strategic movement through Istanbul at level 3 - ??

No, I don't have control of the rail line in Caucasus so I can't rail anything through Eastern Turkey.
Maybe the game is displaying some alternative route like a ferry over the Bosporus :?
I don't have any other explanation.

Strategic movement through Istanbul at level 3 - ??

In my current game Allies strat bombed Istanbul down to level 3 but I still can rail units through Istanbul. Does anyone have an explanation for that?

Re: Message for Pekkavilamoura

Ok no problem, we can play when you feel ready to switch sides. And hope you can soon get PMs working. I've understood it has something to do with the number of posts you've done - which is strange but I guess that's the issue.

Re: AAR -Petedalby (Axis) vs Taifun (Allies)

Just started to read the AAR. Great stuff by Taifun.
There is just one thing I always have some trouble with: I don't know how many players use 3-D units, but my eyes just won't get used to it. I have always played with NATO symbols and for me it would be much easier to read the game with NATO units ...

Re: The World at War ELO Tournament

What???
I can't believe there's an accusation of cheating.
I've played against hasmat_slith and lost, Russia surrendered.
It was just a brilliant Russia strategy by hasmat, couldn't do anything about it.
I think one should just accept losing, that's it.
