Re: 1.06 overrun

Oh, yeah, I’m aware of that discrepancy. I’m not talking about the 7:1 odds requirement here. I’m talking about the newly implemented must be under “1/3 strength” one.

But the "proof" in the screenshots in your last post show that the Chinese armies only had 6/30 when they were overrun, which is ...

Re: 1.06 overrun

I've lost count of the number of times that the pre-combat odds shown on the map says 10:1 and when I look at the log after the battle the log only shows 4:1, regardless of whether the unit is overrun, shattered, or surrenders. I think it's a log report bug, not an actual error in the combat calc ...

FYI - not sure if this is just me but I still don't have convoy lanes in the China 1937 scenario when I updated.
It's not just you.

New upgrade/reinforce toggle not working properly

<t> I have all of my naval units set to reinforce-only, yet they are being upgraded to newer models which is the opposite of my understanding of how the new toggle is supposed to work. I've provided saves from two consecutive turns to show this. I was suspicious when I wasn't building up spare ...

RE: Incorrect report

No. This is the China '37 scenario. I have exactly 2 air units, both shown in the posted image. One is at 20/20 and the other is at 19/20. I also included a save file for you to use in debugging.

RE: Patch 1.00.06

<t> +1 to *Lava* and Staufenberg44's comments. Superb work, thank you!<br/>
<br/>
The China '37 scenario now plays much differently, since Japan can no longer obliterate 1-4 Chinese armies every turn by overrun in the critical early months of the offensive. China is able to defend itself much ...

RE: Convoy protection not working properly

Question: if you place 2 DD units in the same hex does that count as 2 groups or 1 group for purposes of convoy protection? IOW, can you stack units and still get the benefit of multiple groups?

You may have run into the rare bug that Al fixed in version 1.00.052. Please look at this thread.

RE: Convoy protection not working properly

I first noticed the problem in the Indian Ocean with UK convoys to the Aussies, but it also happens in the South Pacific with US convoys to the Aussies and Kiwis.

RE: Questions

There is a bug, which Al has fixed for the upcoming update, in which the port size increase check is made each time that a saved game is loaded. This can trigger multiple increases in a turn. Max increase is to size 5.

RE: Patch 1.00.051

1.00.52 is not a public release. Al sent it to me directly (by email on Jan. 8) when he was fixing the game-breaking bug that I'd found. He spent most of that Saturday digging into his code and hunting down the bug.

RE: NOTBUGS ....but little FYI before next patches re scenarios

<r> In the China 1937 scenario, in Production under Air Force Tactical Grp names there is a "<B><s></s>2th<e></e></B> Air Div". This should of course be "<B><s></s>2nd<e></e></B> Air Div". There are also two instances of "3rd Air Div". I'm pretty sure one of those was intended to be ...

RE: Request: QoL for anti-partisan warfare

<t> Partisans in the China scenario make it almost impossible for a human Japanese player to keep units in supply during the winter. The sheer quantity of sabotage is totally out of control or much semblance to historical reality. Any location 2+ hexes away from a Japanese unit can be sabotaged and ...

RE: Next Patch

<t> Al, for either a future update to WPE/WPP or for WP2 would you consider improving the forces and casualties screens to show the quantity of each naval unit type (CVs, BBs, etc.) rather than strength points? For air and ground strength points is fine but for naval a strength point of transports ...

The infantry garrison on Ceylon in the port of Colombo is incorrectly named "Colimbo Gar" in the 1941 Pacific scenario.

bug with increasing port size

<t> I just noticed that loading a saved game will trigger the port size increase check, so if you save and then load again you can get multiple increases in one turn. In my current game when the Feb 15, 1942 turn began the port of Manus had not been upgraded and was still a 2. After a while of ...
