Re: Mod: MEGA Pacific - Most Realistic Yet - v4.0

Little sneak peak on the next update. The next update won't be massive like the last one, mostly balance tweaks. However, I do want to share how Truk has been redesigned to make it more important. See below for old vs new Truk!

Re: Mod: MEGA Pacific - Most Realistic Yet - v4.0

hey, looks excellent, but as as solo player any eta for AI work? Happy to wait, I imagine the ai work is formidable.

Thanks for the complement! I probably have just as much time into research as I have actually editing the mod. As far as AI...it would be an overstatement to say "I'm working on ...

Analysis of Solomons Campaign scenario

Just finished two games of Solomons 1942-1943 scenarios. Played against Feinder, once for each side.
Both games ended in Allied Victory, one game ended with 1 turn left, the other ended in July 1943.

All in all, it was a fun scenario, but not without room for improvement.

Noted bugs:

Re: Mod: MEGA Pacific - Most Realistic Yet

Another update posted! It's been a lot longer than I intended, but you know stuff happens. Units sizes are redesigned, more country specific qualities, and some new scripts/decisions. I don't insert decision events lightly either - there are real consequences for either answer. I make them with the ...

Re: Mod: MEGA Pacific - Most Realistic Yet - v4.0

Man has this update been a long time coming. I promoted positions at work, so I am not able to work on this like I used to, but that doesn't mean I have neglected it. This update is massive enough I feel I can justify a jump to v4.0! New unique units, country characteristic refinements, map ...

More pictures. You can't see the port health, but look at the picture titles.

Supply in ports wonky

After experimenting in 1943 Solomons and with my MEGA mod I have observed several things about port supply. I think some of them are errors in how supply is calculated? All of these observations were made with no port construction added.

All of these pictures are taken from 1943 Solomons scenario ...

Re: Question about script National moral

One useful feature of GV is for setting random goals or objectives for players at the start of a game. For example, the battlefield might have a hill, a town, or a fort. A GV script could randomly generate which objective a player needs to capture.
OR
If at some point in the game, reinforcements ...

Re: Guadalcanal v1.0....an epic 1:1 ship scale, tactical mod

The down load says version 1.0, while you talk about 1.19. Were is 1.19?

1.19 had to do with patch updates for the base game, not my mod. I haven't worked on this since release (didn't get much feedback), but I do have a Pacific map mod for the Pacific game that I regularly update. Don't be ...

Re: Guadalcanal v1.0....an epic 1:1 ship scale, tactical mod

Hi, should this mod still work? I unzipped it into campaigns as the instructions say, but it doesn't show up in the scenario list or in settings/mods.

There are two campaign folders. One of them contains the base vanilla scenarios, it does not go in that one. The second campaign folder is in ...

Re: Mod: MEGA Pacific - Most Realistic Yet - v3.1

It's been awhile since I posted an update, but rest assured I continue to work on this mod. I don't have as much time as I used to (I formerly worked at this during down time at work, but since I got promoted I don't have that option anymore), but I do what I can when I have time. I do have a ...

Re: General Combat and firing questions

The "(X%)" means chance of a hit against the land unit on a resource. Yes naval only gets one attack, but it will attack the resource first, then the land unit in one attack. Same is true for strategic bombers.
The standard 10% chance of a hit is effectively 0% in my experience.

Artillery and ...

Re: Incredible powerfull editor

It is a good editor, but not as powerful as you think. The reason there are not as many operational scenarios is because many parts of the game & editor are hard coded - you can't change them in any way. Several technologies are even locked into always affecting a specific unit in s specific way ...

Doesn't matter the size of the village/town/ city. If it is isolated and not connected to a secondary supply source, industrial, or primary, the v/t/c will only give the unit a max 3 supply.

I want to potentially produce a modern warfare mod using this overall editor. I can of course go into the existing mods around this forum and pick them apart a bit, and of course read the manual, but anything else, specific to making my own nationalities and making my own unit graphics?

Thanks Elessar for actually turning my crappy map mod into something usable! I still can't believe I just sat there with a WITP:AE map open and painstakingly copied it across 1:1 onto a blank map.

I certainly appreciate you creating the AE map!! I can fully empathize the time consuming ...
