Re: Warplan - early review from a new player

I use 1942 scenario to learn more about game - like that it IS possible to invade Baku from Caspian sea.

Not so sure about how realistic it is. In reality Leningrad starved while being supplied over Lake Ladoga - no need for air supplies. Not possible to simulate this I guess.

Re: Warplan - early review from a new player

Ah ok thanks! AI doesn't do this of course and looked a bit silly.
AlvaroSousa wrote: Sat Apr 27, 2024 1:27 pm There is no 1942 small fleet scenario. Do you mean 1942 scenario? If so then yes. You need to supply them by air or break the siege.

Re: Warplan - early review from a new player

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone 8-)

@Generalfdog / Alvaro - I noticed that Leningrad is out of supplies when the 1942 Small Fleet game starts - bug?

Warplan - early review from a new player

Hi all,

Been playing Warplan for last couple of months and also tested Warplan Pacific.
As a new player it's always super exciting to test new WW2 strategy games as I've been playing them since the hay days of SSI and Gary Grigsby in the 1980's starting with games like Warship and War in Russia ...

Re: Where do I turn on PBEM notifications?

Ah thanks,

Finally found it - bit too many places to check.
Adding a screen for future reference for others that may look for same.

Cheers,

Yes thanks it does, this should also be stated in the manual next to this formula :)
So no need to push for a victory by objectives if Russia runs wild on MPP and units....

A small % chance to throw the country into turmoil and force a settlement would still be a nice alternative (to defeating ...

Re: A few questions on gameplay

Thanks for the replies :)

Having played War in Europe I wanted a challenge first time around, so went for a classic historical campaign.
Really enjoy that first playthrough. Cheesy AI invaded France in 1943 and broke the historical agreement though!-)

And yes, I may hit Russia from Manchuria next ...

A few questions on gameplay

Played WaW first time against AI on Veteran (+1 spotting, +0,5 exp, +20% MPP).

1. What is the end date of this scenario, does it run into 1947?
2. Can't find the Victory conditions - nothing under "Options" as stated in Manual
-> finally found it beneath the "?" symbol - just not curious enough to ...

Who is Mike? Not me. I thought UV was a great game. Detailed but not too big. A remake of UV would be interesting. I looked and it is 20 years old now.

I was just done back then - the worst issues were resolved by the patches we were issued.

Re: More Variants - The Allies ride again - No xargun please

Life I guess 😂
Had a look at my old WitP files - got a drive with hundreds of screens, plans & statistics.
Reminded me how much time it actually takes to run a war!-)
My next game will be after I retire…

But I did load up a Guadalcanal scenario, it’s great to review while reading Pacific WW2 ...
