Black Screen and cursor only

Hi, bought CCCoI today, installed it (fully) and tried running the game. The music plays when launched and the screen goes black, with only the cursor showing. If I ctrl-alt-del it shows CoI as not responding, please help, it's winding me up now. Dxdiag was fine by the way.

RE: ctd every startup

I have found that if I remove the sidewinder pro force feedback 2 from device manager and run the game, all is well, is this something that I can download a patch for, possibly from microsoft? Surely I'm not the only person using this joystick?

RE: ctd every startup

Hello,
Yes I have a joystick, it is a sidewinder force feedback 2 and seems to work fine with other games. I also tried the key.cfg fix to no avail.[:(]

It's strange that it worked fine on first installed, then after re-starting windows it no longer ran.

CVs and CVEs?

I apologise for my stupidity, but I am only an occasional admiral.:o

I was wondering, what is the difference between a CV and a CVE and does a CVE have any benefits over a CV in UV and in real life?

On point one though, it may detract from the authenticity of the game, but for those of us that want just a little more fun - why not spoils us with the option?:) You of course could opt for (the default) commander controlled (read computer ...

<t>Hi,<br/>
<br/>
I'm new to SPWAW but did used to have SP2&3. In those games it was possible to move formations instead of individual units (which can get a bit tedious sometimes), however it seems to be impossible for me to do so in SPWAW despite selecting "all" through the toggle button (button ...
