RE: Operation Barbarossa - Alpha AAR

<t> Hi lee,<br/>
<br/>
how is terrain influenced your combat? i notice you have 3 panzer divs moving through what looks like forest area (woodlands?) towards leningrad but they are on a railline. Does being on railine hexes aid movement? kinda like the only primary road to moscow leading across ...

RE: Operation Barbarossa - Alpha AAR

hi trey,

is the French AVF regiment included? I realise we are talking divisional level but that would be some nice chrome. Plus they come in summer 41' so they would be able to participate in the offensive :)

cheers,
john

<t> hi lee,<br/>
<br/>
1 more thing before i forget-your bridgehead there-is it across a bridge/railway hex or can you cross a major river anywhere with panzer/motorized troops? If counterattacked and forced to retreat across that river would you sustain increased losses? <br/>

RE: Operation Barbarossa - Alpha AAR

<t> hi lee,<br/>
<br/>
Are the units led (by leader) at the division or at corps level. Awesome screenshot. You took some serious casualties in the last turn roughly 20,000 if i am not mistaken from end of turn 4 to end of turn 5. That would make you 32 days into the campaign. <br/>

RE: Operation Barbarossa - Alpha AAR

Hi Elmo,

Looking through your units I didn't see the SS cavalry brigade anywhere. i noticed a few cavalry brigades in the south porbably Romaninas but didn't see the SS cavalry brigade attached to AGN. Is it attached to one of your Divisions?

cheers,
john

<t> For the german units, the level seems to be primarily at divisonal. I would think any incorporation of brandenburg units would be considered like a support unit. If i am not mistaken they primarily operated at strengths under company level (were they ever deployed as a full battalion?). <br ...

What are the terrain effects for river crossings? 1/2 firepower or so? Can you airdrop over a river hexside to gain a bridgehead?

RE: thoughts on playing against human opponent.

thanks for the clarification- agreed -refits first to the west but if a korps is facing elimnation he need s to be kept up to strength (to the pt where 1 attack willnot annhilate it) thus keeping pressure on the german ef is very important.

<t> it would not serve the russians adequately to send in 1 inf unit if the german unit was a lv 24 inf unit and not a lv 0 hq-that my point-if the ruskies will assault they will do it on force (if they are wise). hence perhaps using a lv 0 hq to screen your line may serve useful-whether or not you ...
