As far as I know the balance cannot be changed during the game. Even if you change the setting in the opening screen the game will continue in the original setting once you have loaded the PBEM savegame.

Beeing my first shot at the 1943 scenario, I must say I am dissapointed. It hasn't shown me anything new; it feels like I am playing a 1914-1918 simulator with troops gaining a few ...

<t>I think one thing that gave the Germans a big advantage in WiR 3.2 was the bug that prevented units from suffering a readiness loss by combat. This made deep panzer strikes much more effective, because even when fighting through four Soviet armies the panzers would arrive for the fifth battle (or ...

<t>Bernard - It's true that the Germans probably lost the North Africa campaign because they failed to take Malta, but that was a strategic decision made by the OKW. I think Rommel very much favoured an attack on the island.<br/>

Dave - I also have seen plotted attacks not being carried out, but I wondered if the reson for that may have been lack of OPs. It often happened in turns where I had plotted a lot of attacks, and usually the attacks that weren't carried out were supposed to have occurred in later steps.

Yes, the blizzard bug seems to be still there. Every German Korps seems to run a high risk of shattering if its units have a readiness of 65+%, no matter if they reached that readiness level with or without special supply.

I think the odds need to be at least (entrenchment level)+(terrain defence value)+2, but sometimes, for instance in snow, even higher.

The Tiger is a different type of tank compared to Pz III and IV and such and that's why you cannot change those bns for Tigers. So instead of producing huge numbers of Tigers it's better to concentrate on the Panther because Panthers can replace the other tanks.

Did the German units have a readiness of 65-70% or higher? There seems to be a bug that makes units with high readiness shatter very easily in first-winter blizzards.

Crazyhorse, I can understand how such an (no) interdiction rule could help balancing the game.
But I'd have big problems with such a house rule because it, unlike the other house rules, would be highly unhistorical.

As far as I know it adds to the operation points total, and if total resource is less than 100 the production is decreased (e.g. if resource = 80 then all factories will produce only 80% of what they should produce).

I think the most important thing in a future update should be the removal of that bug that causes German units with high readiness to shatter so easily in first winter blizzard turns. This is really a big problem.

Well, yes, now I remember that in one of my games the AI always changed my Grants back to T-70s without a reason. And I think it was even on "human upgrade control". Perhaps there really is a problem. :-(
