<t>I agree with David. I was a bit too touchy earlier in regards to comments and said some things in the heat of the moment that I apologize for. Paul is a very busy person with a ton of things on his plate - I misunderstood what certain of the constraints he gave actually meant and therefore I ...

<t>Probably the biggest reason I can think of for doing custom OOBs is that there are so many constraints in place on the official ones that given the limitations of the OOB file format, if you want to model some engagement that can't be represented well enough using the stock ones, you have very ...

<t>Sometime tomorrow the v7.1 OOBs will reach my desk. At that point I will be addressing any known errors that can be corrected in the time allowed. <t>The more I play online or pbem games the less inviting I find random battles/campaigns against the AI to be. Still useful for trying out some things, but to make things at all comparable to human vs human requires a person to setup and deploy, set objectives, waypoints, etc for the AI.<br/>

Note that the Asterix and Hash feature is considered too much information by some players (how do you know you are spotted until they open fire?). This feature may be turned off also via the undocumented Shift-*.<br/>

Please include SP:WAW version number (for both mech.exe and OOBs if different) as well as nation and year/type of ski troop unit in test/incident results so I can try to make absolutely positive that there isn't something fishy in the OOBs.

Thanks,

<t>There is a difference, imo, between using scout vehicles to draw fire and using trucks to draw fire. Of course it depends on national doctrine and whether or not one is attempting to play in a more or less historical fashion. One might argue that in the case of scout vehicles, they are just doing ...
