Question About Game

It is apparent some WITE players have issues with this game. Specifically, the retreat eastward of the Red army in 1941. Is this problem just for human vs human games or is this an issue with the AI? In other words, is this an enjoyable game to play versus the AI?

RE: Finished 41-45 campaign

Gremell,

Do you have a rough idea how many hours of play it took you to finish the 41-45 campaign?

RE: Scenario Questions

<t> I have no doubt the full campaign will be tempting, but lets say it takes at least 30 minutes per turn when playing as the US. That means the full game will take more than 300 hours (assuming I play with each turn representing 2 days). That means I will have to decide between my marriage and the ...

Scenario Questions

<t> As on owner of Uncommon Valor, I am interested in getting War in the Pacific. But it is highly unlikely I will ever have the time to play the full campaign. However, I may have time play some of the shorter scenarios. So, my questions are:<br/>

RE: Review of HoI2 over at wargamers

HOI2 has been rated by 27 users over on Gamespot for an average of 9.8. I can’t recall ever seeing a game rated that high by Gamespot’s readership. Is somebody stacking the deck or is this game that good?

<t>I have not yet purchased Korsun Pocket but the lack of zoom levels for the tactical map was my biggest complaint with TAO. I always thought the tactical map showed too small a portion of the overall battle while the strategic map did not show enough detail - neither was just quite right for me ...

Combat Advisor

<t>I have heard the term "combat advisor" mentioned several times in this forum and an curious as to exactly what this is and how it assists the player.<br/>
I ask because in my experience, hex based war games that use odds-based combat algorithms can take a long time to play because there are so ...

This issue of hindsight is similar regarding the Japanese advantage with torpedoes. In World War II tactical naval warfare games, as the American player, you know the potency of the ...

Aircraft Ranges and Hindsight

<t>Anyone who has played a World War II Pacific theater war game involving aircraft carriers knows that many Japanese aircraft had an advantage over their American counterparts when comparing combat radius. Using this knowledge, the Japanese player will sometimes try to engage the American carriers ...

Perhaps the most important question is "Have enough copies of Uncommon Valor been sold to have made this a worthwhile effort on the part of Matrix?".

This two hour documentary was one of the best WWII specials ever done by the History Channel. I found it to be very accurate. I only wish I could say the same about many of the other programs presented by the History Channel.

UV can be a little overwhelming at first and isn't for everyone. Frankly, I would not recommend it for the average video/computer gamer. But for those who don't mind games that require some work, I would say it is an outstanding effort.

Of all the features of UV, having to set the altitude for aircraft is my least favorite. It would seem to me that this detail should be outside the game player's control. Currently, it seems to be a guessing game as to what is the best altitude for many missions, including ASW.

Fog of War Question

<t>I am curious, with Fog of War turned on, is the number of aircraft participating in an attack reported accurately in the AAR? For example, in the AAR below, was I really attacked by 90 Vals with an escort of only 4 Zeros or is this inaccurate reporting brought about by FOW (perhaps my guys only ...
