Opponent wanted for Super dreadnoughts PBEM game

<r> Hi<br/>
<br/>
I've just purchased War Plan Orange after a couple of years of playing WitP. I'm very keen to play one of the long campaigns. Quite happy to use any rules proposed but would prefer to play the allies.<br/>
Can manage about 10-15 turns a week (less is fine though)<br/>

RE: Can it get any better?????

<t> I don't get this whole American love of hunting. Waxing a duck from 200m with a rifle serves what purpose? <br/>
I worked with a Texan once who was into hunting (top bloke apart from his desire to massacre innocent woodland beings with heavy weaponry), he told me it helped make a man of you and ...

Funniest/Coolest ship names?

I can't help chuckling every time I see the SS Brown Ranger appear on screen, that's one ship I'm sure nobody wanted to serve on.

On the other side of the coin who wouldn't want to serve on HMS Valiant or Warspite?

RE: Royal Navy Ship names

Think firstly they would check the list of ship names previously in comission with the RN in the past and re-use them, the rest i guess they just made up![:'(]

I wonder what joker came up with HMS Beaver then?

Royal Navy Ship names

<t> While this question is connected to do with WitP it's more of a general history question, but seeing as how there are so many of you history buffs here i was hoping you'd be able to help.<br/>
When new Royal Navy ships were commisioned in World war II how were their names decided upon? I ...

RE: Baddest Battleship

Quite agree. I've nothing against carriers as such, they were okay when they kept things fair and limited themselves to HMS Hermes size, but 80 planes onboard! That's just not cricket

The Iowa may be top in your estimate but for sheer sex appeal HMS Rodney and HMS Nelson wipe the floor with anything else.

So how's it going?

<t> I downloaded the game on it's first day of availability and I jumped straight into the full campaign as the allies. I'm just wondering how my fellow grognards who did similar are getting along?<br/>
<br/>
My campaign breaks down as follows.<br/>
It's the start of February 1942.<br/>

Outstanding performance?

<t> Dear all<br/>
<br/>
Just wondering if anyone has had one of their ships perform outstandingly in one of the campaign games.<br/>
<br/>
I'm mid-way through Scen 15 and one ship clearly stands out as being captained by Superman and crewed by the X-men.<br/>

HMS Thanet. Having dashed ...

Thanks for all of the answers.
I'll keep plugging away at those Jap transports and see if they start shooting back.

Transports not firing at subs on surface

On several occasions now (playing scenario 15), Dutch and American subs have engaged Japanese transports with their guns, on no occasions have I seen the Japanese return fire. Has anyone witnessed transports making use of their guns against surfaced subs?

Fully agree that seeing ship kills in a similar vein to pilot kills would be good.

'Star Wars two was a good movie'....is that some kind of sick joke? Because quite frankly I'm offended
