vcr replay

<r>I like 2-3, currently playing 4. I try to do a turn a night per game if my opponent is able to do likewise. However the VCR replay sometime takes 20-30 minutes to watch that cuts into my play time. I try to watch the replays on every turn, a must when your playing good opponents like Tracer ...

MSN 8 Problems

<t>I'm having problems receiving e-mails with attached zip files. I just updated to MSN 8 before this started happening. I have two players that send me regualar turns, both are receiving an error message saying postmaster cannot deliver, Bad File Number. I have no trouble e-mailing out to them, one ...

Great!

<t>Birdgunner<br/>
I will send you a e-mail from my home tonight. As I understand the rules you get to pick the countries we will fight as. I have some maps that are set up to favor neither side, I'll send one to you to look at. I looked on page 5 of this topic to find the rules I think we are to ...

Disappointment

<r>:(Just got a chance to catch up on the forum and found out that I missed the Saturday cut off for this years challange. I understand cutoffs but if there is someone that signed up that had to drop out and you need a replacement I'd be willing to step in. US/Germany countries of choice. Victim of ...

Can Cowboys & Indians be far behind

David,
Kudos from me as well for taking this long awaited project on. Can't help much other than to offer to playtest, which from the response I'm seeing will be the least of your worries. Keep the screenshots coming.

consider this

Yes indeed a bad day for us. But, how about the first astronaut from Israel being on board, now not only the first up in space but the first to give his life in space for his country.:( :(

Boro vs Ironfist

Into it about 8 turns. Soviets control most VH's, have destroyed 4 of 5 Panthers that have appeared, light causalties sustained. Too early for me to tell beyond that. Haven't heard from Ironfist for 4 days.:confused:

Modern Battles

<t>Barry<br/>
<br/>
I believe the answer to the queston: Is SPWAW going to come up with a modern battle game, is NO. However you can get the Steel Panthers Modern Battles (SPMBT) game from the Wargamer web site. Its a DOS based game instead of Windows. I have no clue as to if you can take ...

No smoke w/o HE?

<t>Capt. Pixel Sir<br/>
<br/>
Enjoyed your post, but have a question.<br/>
<br/>
You said that smoke cannot be fired unless the unit has at least one round of HE left. Is that true of all artillery units? <br/>
<br/>
I am in the middle of a PBEM game where I have 81mm mortars that have ran out of HE ...

I too have read the book you refferred to on WWII "what ifs" and found it to be quite good. There a couple others out there, I believe "Into the Rising Sun" about Japans possible other outcomes and decisions is one. <br/>

Things could be a lot worse

<t>Gary<br/>
At least your on the defensive so that you can make him come to you. Then you can hope he attacks with his IS-4 leading the way, instead of behind a good infantry screen. Buy some engineers and mine the approaches he will most likely use and then ambush, ambush, ambush. <br/>
Good Luck ...

<t>I've seen a MG that brokedown fix itself, but never a main gun on a Tank or AT gun. Seems to make sense when you consider the context of time in a battle. Most scenarios are less than 1 hour in real time so it make sense that fixing some things just wouldn't happen in that time frame.<br/>

rules clarification

ironFist and I have started our scenario. Just a clarification, are reinforcements allowed? A simple yes or no would do just fine.

Ok, I'll take the Soviets or Germans, whichever is needed to round out the field. 8-9 days out works for me.

<t>I think its a great idea. Are points figured so that different countries or units are worth more? So that unless you played with the same units the points system would not be a fair way to judge. Or the turns are set to say 40 to allow enough time to play so that one player is the clear winner ...

<t>I have to agree with TimeTanker. That is just part of war and should be part of the game. I had an oppenent drop paratroops on turn 7 or 8 and I did not get to see the planes then either, dropped into an area where I had no line of sight. Only knew they dropped because of the messege on the ...
