I need late war "savegames" or "homemade" scenarios

<t>Some of you may know that I've been reworking the Aircraft arts and posting them on Spooky's website. I've redone most of the early war U.S. stuff that I thought needed some work, and now want to do the later aircraft. However, I need to be able to see the aircraft "ingame" for ID and ...

<t>Well, something looks whacky. The group you show here, has 92 "Ready Pilots." I've never seen anything like that before.<br/>
<br/>
Actually, I think you have a total of 12 planes in this squadron. You only have six ready for combat. I wonder if you are being limited by the amount of support at ...

I've made a smaller version of the Elco80 mod. It's probably about 67%-75% the size of the one I posted. In game it looks a bit small to me, but you might like it. I'll be glad to send it to you if you like. Post ...

I'm using Rowlf's mods too. They are really nice. I wouldn't even attempt to better his work. But I'll take a look at that Atlanta again. Perhaps that's one he didn't do a lot with. Thanks for the pic. I've also got some good ship resources.<br/>

New Aircraft and Ship art

<r>Hi fellas-<br/>
<br/>
I've prepared some new ingame graphics which Spooky has been good enough to post at his site.<br/>
<br/>
I have updated the Allied aircraft art to v1.1. In addition to the original reworks of F4Fs, F4Us, F6F, B17, B25s, And SBD, I have now included new art for the P-47C and ...

How is "Support" Calculated?

The manual is kinda vague, and I was unable to find any reference to this in the FAQ.

I was wondering if anyone could briefly explain how one can calculate or estimate "support," both general and support for air-ops.

Thanks.

<t>I think that no matter what type of aircraft you use to make a low-level attack, it is going to take losses if the target is well-supplied and equipped.<br/>
<br/>
The key, IMHO is to soften up the target with the heavies first, while sealing off its supply route with PTs, subs, and/or your SBDs ...

<r>I've had some success using some of the heavier fighters, like the P-39, P-38, and Corsair in low-level ground attacks.<br/>

It's tough to locate enemy troops in jungle in any great numbers. I soften bases up by using the heavy bombers in a "Port Attack." <br/>

<t>I think you're right Drex, to a degree. In the example, an 80 exp Japanese pilot in a Zero 'should" be able to beat a 60 exp pilot in a Corsair. To be honest, I'm not so sure this is enough of an experience difference to consistantly and significantly compensate for the difference in the aircraft ...

<t>There is this notion that the Japanese pilots were head and shoulders better than their American counterparts. At the very beginning of 1942, this might have been true. But talented pilots such as Thach, developed tactics that capitalized on the strengths of their aircraft. Fighters such as the ...

I know the F6F shot down more Japanese aircraft than any other Allied plane. In fact, maybe more than all the others combined (I'm not positive about that). I don't specifically know about Zeros.

<t>I've gotten some nutty overkills myself. But I chaulk it up to inflated reports. Also, if your strikes tend to focus on one ship, it's likley because they could not find the others. There were many such situations in the Pacific. Besides, I'll bet most pilots were really tempted to bear in and ...
