Sure not a lot of threads in here...

For the reviews this game has recieved, there sure hasn't been a lot of activity in the KP forum for the last couple of months. I was expecting it to be on fire after people got word that it's a kickin' game. Maybe wargaming is a dying breed.

Thanks guys... When I said I was confused, everyone came to the rescue. I was thinking movement, but it's not that at all. It's a shift in the odds. Now things are starting to make more sense. And since I bought ToAW: CoW, I can master this and move onto that. I hear it's a real bear.

Old Joe was a bad mofo. He was responsible for the deaths of millions more people than Hitler. Whoever is responsible for more deaths IMO should be the worse bastard.

<t>Ok.. i understand that with a shift you gain a better advantage, or if the enemy gains a shift, you lose an advantage. <br/>

What is the legal definition of shift? WHY does it happen? Does shift mean the men move or shift? Why is this encorporated into a game? Still have no idea what it ...

Someone please explain the concept of shifts?

I'm new to hex-based wargaming and the manual doesn't do a good job of explaining what exactly a shift is. Thanks.

<t>I ordered SC. I think it would be a good beginning hex game. I also bought Korsun Pocket and TOAW: Cow, but it may take some time to get into those. Just for fun however, I loaded up a first person shooter tonight to kill some Nazis. I needed the eye candy and brainless fun for a change. Anyone ...

<t>Well.. I got my Cow. However I was a little more than disapointed to find out all they send is the disk along with a manual printed on a standard b&w. For a game that old and for what you get, they should not charge 40.00. It is rape if you ask me, but I will soon find out it is probably worth it ...

Of course I have cable. It's probably not a very popular commodity with hex grognards however. Military wargames aren't exactly processor intensive that would cause lag over a 56k connection.:)

Thanks Les,

I went on there and registered with you as a referral. It will not let you register as a new user unless you put a referrer that has an account on the site. It's where you select your username, password and email account. Now off to wargaming. :)

<t>It's a driver issue. Had the same problem at my workplace. There were a lot of people that could not print in PDF format. It was either jumbled or blank. We then used our test print servers and rolled back the drivers and it worked fine. So, we had to move the drivers back to NT on the reg print ...
