RE: What Complexity do you enjoy Most?

<t> I like complexity if we're talking about the depth of the simulation - that would be a 9 or even a 10. But I prefer the GUI to be as simple as possible given the constraints of my first point, therefore I guess that would be a 6 or 7. <br/>

Very difficult to generalise though because ...

My only problem really is time. As its an RTS game I feel I should carry on until the end. Where as a turn based game I find it easier to stop and save, then carry on tomorrow. Due to lack of time I then have to rush the end of the game which to ...

RE: How Were You Introduced to the Wargaming Genre?

Late 60s - Wargaming - Plastic toy soldiers

Mid 70s - Board Wargaming - Being loaned a copy of 'Panzerblitz'

Got out of wargaming in the late 80s, rediscovered it when I bought 'Airborne Assault: Red Devils Over Arnhem' about three years ago.

RE: My newbie topic

<t> It's a 'feel' thing guys. HTTR is a Corps level command simulator and to get the best out of it you have to play it that way. Watch your battalions manoeuvre into position to attack and then see how each company behaves. Then reassess and replan. To a certain degree you have to focus on the ...

RE: Grognard or not grognard ?

<t> Very difficult to compare to be honest. I've always found the HTTR interface very intuitive and the real/continuous-pausible time nature of the game an absolute breeze to play. There is a lot of depth to the game and if you play the game at its most realistic it can be a trying, if rewarding ...

RE: Browser Smug?

That article just states the obvious really. If you don't keep on top of internet security you're vulnerable .... but then that's just common sense isn't it?

At least with Firefox you know immediately when there's an update available whereas with IE you have to go looking.

In Game Music

<t> Korsun Pocket is not one of my favourite games for all sorts of reasons, but one of them is the dreadful (imho) in game music. I passed on BiN due to the subject matter (how many Normandy games does a wargamer need?[:D]) but BiI is something I'm quite interested in acquiring. So, has the music ...
