RE: Game Superstitions?

<t> I suppose if there was something flawed in the way AWD handled its "random" rolls or for determining the order in which multiple same units fight then maybe there's merit, but personally I don't consider such things. I'll just keep adding / removing / or replacing certain units until the numbers ...

RE: How about a ladder?

<t> Ive always felt that for these types of community geared services for a particular game to become popular within the player base that the barrier to entry must be pathetically simple. Invariably, this means being built into the game's front end with a lobby feature of some kind that makes the ...

Any of you guys consider the fact that who you play kinda influences if you win or not. you might win 100 games in a row but if your playing someone very bad is that as good as victory as someone playing someone very good?

My first Axis win with Germany

<t> (i reposted this here and deleted in general forum)<br/>
<br/>
Woohoo! Axis Victory in the Fall of '44. I was actually surprised since in the previous turn the Allies had captured Western France with a huge amphibious assault of 45 units. At that point I pulled back all my troops from South ...

RE: Why show AI's different "tests" rather than just final?

ah yes, i see that now. That helps since i can see which of their units are hurting me the most when they attack. Of course with the good comes the bad... like seeing your panzer division get only 3 die and rolls 1 1 1 on top of it. [:D]

RE: total war

<t> Same here.&nbsp; I've played with the Russians and defeated Germany.&nbsp; I then started attacking Japan and they quickly surrendered.&nbsp; Unfortunately, with both Japan and Germany defeated I got no "Victory" but instead a stalemate&nbsp; I tried it a second time thinking maybe this had to ...

Why show AI's different "tests" rather than just final?

<t> This really annoyed me at first until I read here about setting the animation speed value to something miniscule. I don't like to have them off completely so this is the best compromise. However, I just don't see why the user needs to witness these test runs at all. That should be internal ...

<t> Does the AI play differently with fog of war ON?&nbsp; So far I've only played with fog of war OFF and the AI seems to be able to block my every advance at the Russian front.&nbsp; <br/>

<r> Ok, this is probably an odd question but since i currently only subscribe to Game Developer magazine (yeah yeah, im a wanabe game developer too), i'm wondering if anyone here has seen a Starshatter ad in any major mag like PC Gamer or others? <br/>

RE: Old starshatter.com boards were better...

Two reasons mostly
1) the old board was more active in terms of new posts/replies.
2) there are so many threads there that have just died do to the lack of them being carried over here.

Old starshatter.com boards were better...

Ok, even though this post is good for nothing, just thought I'd state it anyway. I liked the original starshatter forums hosted on milos starshatter.com site better.
That is all.
