Re: Next titel in DC series?

There is a rumor about a new DC game but no idea about the theater.

Re: Thinking of Buying This

There is no Matrix server for DC Ardenne. (Nor for shadow Empire).

You need to exchange the save game with your opponent in multi. (The save game is password protected).

I use a discord server for this.

Good job !!

Hi !
I tested the game at release
(See my small AAR here https://www.matrixgames.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=10189&t=376061 in 2021)

As the German army, i ran over the allied easily the first days, even took Bastogne before the arrival of the 101st airbone only to be stopped by massive fuel shortage ...

It is clearly the best outcome :D

Re: Dock size

Another thing to consider is the blockage value.
2 45 Kt battleship have twice the blockage value than 1 90kt battleship.

If your first objective is to avoid or implement blockage, bigger is not always better.

Re: French infantry really good at ambushing at point blank.

Interesting Thanks.
I hope there will be campaign with the french in the future. (Or maybe in central storm).

As their AMX-30 are mobile but nor heavily armored nor heavily armed (and they have good artillery), it looks like we have to play them like the soviets..... 8-)

It is fun.

How do you know the AI strategy during peacetime relative to reserve status and monthball ? It is not at all clear to me.

Re: Subs on fleet support aren't particularly helpful

You can still have some ships taking torpedoes during strategic phase. (Like the ones hitting mine).

The US sub campaign against japan was effective.( At least, once they managed to fix their torpedoes, which took 1/2 years  ), but it was very special circonstances.
Japan lacked the technology ...

Re: "Unidentified ship"

You would not want to shooting fishing boats, would you ?

Or even your own ships.... Remember that the game still give you the exact position of all your ships, even in admiral mode. Which is a gamey simplification :D .

Imagine a hard core admiral mode where you cannot even know what your own ...

Re: Are navies a little small?

I play in Admiral mode (with division for fleet organisation), it reduced micro management for large navy and you have the true admiral experience !

Also, it level the field with the AI as you use the same AI to command your squadrons.

Re: Blockade

Being blockaged give points each turn to your ennemy, and can increase your unrest, leading to possible a revolution and terrible consequences.

To prevent a blockage, you must have enough ships in your home sea relative to your enemy ships.
To blockage someone, you must have enough ships in his ...

They already dropped their payload of marines, ammunitions and cargo, like the USA at guadalcanal. It is too late... The japanese couter attacks were too late.

Re: Buying and selling ships

The option to sold it to minor power sometimes instead of scrapping the ship (for better money, but maybe with diplomatic consequences) could be introduced as a feature or an event.

Re: Fixing "Relocation" - "Fall Back Orders"

Thanks for all the answers it is very interesting.

One point :
Don't you think there are more and more conflict between the posture (Move/MoveFast/Assault ?) and the SOP ?

For example, with the SOP now, we can perform a recon assault, where the unit abort and scoop away at first contact while in ...

Re: The immortal and unbreakable last infantry man

I finished the scenario (and lost  ).

The situation is better than i though, as a lot of one-man survivor units have been finally wiped out after hours of battle. So it was probably not a bug.

Could be a side effect of the fact that smaller units are harder to hit than larger units, leading ...

The immortal and unbreakable last infantry man

I noticed something. Maybe other too.

I often entrenched infantry units in cities and urban area. I noticed an interesting behavior.
The unit fight and take looses normaly, but a lot of time, the last infantry man is quite really difficult, maybe impossible to kill.

In my current game (a though ...

Yes for example in Fleet Tactic, when you discovered scouting you are able to manage two ships instead of just your flagship.
Your flagship for BB and the one for the scout group BC/CA.

Oh hi Stelteck!

Thanks for the info. How would you rate Battle AI compared to WitE AI (without crazy bonuses)? More or less capable, if such a comparison is possible?

Wite and RTW are so different, i do not know how to compare them.

Eventually, if a have to criticize the AI, i would say two ...

Re: How good is the AI?

There are two types of AI in this game :

- Campaign AI: This AI is asymmetrical. It is not a 4X opponent, and do not obey as the same rule as the player. It is a simulation of an international environment. I think it is doing a good job to create realistic and plausible international relations. The ...
