RE: "Hotel California" Bug

There are no enemy units around me except for those I just kicked out of Homan. I occupy all the other hexes already just to make sure that was not the issue.

I will email the file to Mogami up above.

Any other ideas?

Thanks

"Hotel California" Bug

<t> Playing the May 1942 scenario, now in Jan 1943.<br/>
<br/>
Japanese have moved a host of troops into Homan and have evicted the Chinese. Now none of the troops will leave. They get posted to move elsewhere but never leave. Cannot get them to go anywhere once they arrive in Homan.<br/>

RE: Few thoughts

DTravel, that is called "hyperbole", or else I have a big backyard. [:)]

How many US Divs could fit on an atoll? Kinda like the number of angels on a pinhead question.

The answer is not infinite, which is the answer this game allows.

RE: U.S. Land Based Aircraft vs. Japanese Carriers.

<t> Dereck, don't mean to speak for Dave, but what he is suggesting is that the game be as realistic as possible, but that the Japanese player get victory points for capturing and holding certain bases, sinking Allied shipping, NOT taking losses to Japanese shipping, etc., in such a fashion that the ...

Few thoughts

<t> OK, so we have an apparent problem with the model for large-scale land operations in China and, eventually, the Indian subcontinent. Ideas to kick around:<br/>
<br/>
1) No Japanese attacks or movement at start of Scen 15 except for HKong for "X" days. That is one that can be house-ruled ...

RE: The Witch is Dead

<t> I posted a similar comment on the Wobbly AAR and I want to make it clear that I am not in ANY WAY disparaging the wonderful play by the Japanese player here!<br/>
<br/>
With that caveat clear, this AAR and Wobbly's have highlighted that there remains major flaws in the way the game simulates ...

RE: B17 Repair Bug?

<t> My LB-30 Liberators at the exact same base repair MUCH faster than their B17 cousins. <br/>
<br/>
There is either a bug a work here or a very odd game balancing mechanism that is intentional. I will see if these are units I can divide to see if that expedites getting them back in the air ...

RE: B17 Repair Bug?

<t> Kaleun, if this is correct that is a silly way to fix the "issue". Just reduce its manuever rating or armor or something that actually addresses the issue. Don't have dozens of aircraft sit around a base with the mechanics sitting on their thumbs. That is a poor way to "fix" this perceived ...

RE: 12/7-12/8/1941

<t> Very heavy Jap air losses, especially Kates. Even with FOW he lost close to 45 elite carrier pilots. Those wont be coming back--ever.<br/>
<br/>
It is a fair trade-off. Obsolete BB's for elite carrier pilots and, secondarily, planes. If you can avoid losing too many points for auto victory, I ...

B17 Repair Bug?

<t> I saw this addressed somewhere here earlier, but never saw an "official" response.<br/>
<br/>
B17's are not repairing properly. Level 9 airfield, hundreds of thousands of supply, oodles of support, and yet they repair at a glacial rate. Wellington's at the same base--and all other aircraft ...

RE: It seems to me...

<t> Hugh, a couple comments.<br/>
<br/>
First, you must have had a magazine explosion to lose that BB that quickly.<br/>
<br/>
Second, if you have 14 bomb hits on a Jap CV, even if that is exagerrated by FOW, just wait a couple turns. It will sink in due time unless it is right next to a major ...

<t> Gentlemen:<br/>
<br/>
I was not trying to "hijack" the thread or AAR. I believe I stressed that it reflected excellent play on both sides and is a wonderful read.<br/>

What I was trying to point out is that it is illustrating flaws in the "virtual sandbox" to quote from above that the ...

RE: Chandpur and Imphal falls!!

<t> What are the garrison requirements the computer is imposing for the Japs to keep Chandpur? It should be enormous to say the least.<br/>

This is probably a good object lesson on how ahistorical play can break the simulation. The idea that the Japanese could have succesfully transported ...

Yep, mine too. Weeks to repair planes. Very different from any other types of bombers.

Glad I am not the only one.

RE: Another Leader Problem

I created a surface task force, allocated the BC Repulse to it, and then went to the TF screen. At all points in time a WO (Blank) is identified as the CO. It is not yellow, and there is no known way to changes leaders.

RE: Anybody know...

<t> So the Japanese start with roughly 900 transports. What would be "typical" losses in the first 6 months? Opinions?<br/>
<br/>
In my current PBEM effort the Japs have lost 150, so about 17%. Is that high, low or average? Is that going to start hurting as the war progresses?<br/>
