RE: Lawrence of Arabia Gambit for the Rising Sun

Didn't zeta16 post on 9/16/06 that he did play Hirohito in a PBEM game where this strategy was used?  After that post people were still saying he should have tried it out for real, but it looks to me like he did and it wasn't a total failure.

RE: The B.S. Power of CD

In the time it took to find the answer on The THREAD, I got a more detailed answer here. Thanks ctangus.

I did get hypnotized by the shadow of a spinning dancer while I was there though, so that took extra time.

RE: The B.S. Power of CD

Oh, that The Thread thing.  I never knew what that was all about so I just ignored it.  I guess I'll have to delve in.

Of course, that info is probably in half a dozen other threads too if I had just done a search.  Thanks.

RE: autodisband function

I'm pretty sure I've seen a task forces disbanding message go by in the little information window at the bottom toward the end of a turn.&nbsp; If you are one of the people that watches the turn run you'll probably see it if you watch for it.

I don't know man. I'm running historical also 42a. Your guys missions are high, kills are high, and fatigue is very low. All experiance seem to be around 98 to 99. That seems odd.

"Unable to locate target" message

<t> What exactly does it mean? You have a naval attack going on, you are pounding the heck out of one ship, then all of a sudden you get the "Unable to Locate Target" message, which presumably indicates the target has been sunk.<br/>
<br/>
But then what happens to the planes? Do they say "Oh well ...

RE: what is your top ace ?

<r> I must be doing something screwy then, because in my first game I'm getting a lot more kills that that. I'm sure it's mostly because I'm playing against the AI, and they are stubbornly stupid. And I have it set on historical strength, while I'm sure most of you have it set much more difficult. I ...

RE: Saipan Invasion Question

<t> I'm in a similar situation in my game. It's my first full game (vs. AI) so I'm still learning. At the moment, I'm the Allies, it's October '43 and I have Pagan. However, Saipan has 66 (yes 66!) Japanese ground units there. As it turns out, Tinian and Guam appear to be only weakly defended, with ...

RE: CV Air Fragments to Parent CV??

<t> O.K., now I've got a problem.&nbsp; The remnants of some of the carrier based air from a sunk carrier lands at a nearby base.&nbsp; Eventually they get whittled down to only one plane (but 12 pilots) during combat and it apparently can't get any replacements.&nbsp; It's not worth keeping the ...

Thanks tanjman.&nbsp; It's not a PBEM game.&nbsp; I'm in over my head against the AI as it is at this point, without having to face a crafty human.

I'd agree with that if there were not so many reports of things going strange ... personally, unless you are feeling lucky ... leave 'em put and let the game engine sort it out automatically when you have ready decks again.<br/>
