It was always just one area. It was inserted primarily for the ability to do Pearl Harbor and you get one area of bonus in Russia. This is a 3 month turn and we felt that giving more than the first attack would be too much of a benefit ...

RE: Concerning Surprise Attacks

<r> Is there any reasoning for this? Surely a country could plan a number of attacks to happen simultaneously - a wave of first strikes. Just a balance thing?<br/>

Then again, I hate that 'frozen' countries can't shift troops, too. If I was Stalin and saw half of the german land forces ...

RE: Replace seasons with another time reference

I pray to the gods that none of my Japanese friends see your post. Half of Japan is convinced that that they are the only country that has four distinct seasons, and they react with polite incredulity when someone dares to suggest otherwise.

Axis Victory Conditions and Scripted Events

<r> Upon further reflection, I think some of the issues I'm having with the game revolve around basic design decisions. As such, they probably aren't 'fixable' per se, but they make good forum fodder. <E>:)</E><br/>

<t> Your population problem is likely caused by casualties. If not completely destroyed, casualties go into your production slots and require the same 2 pop to finish. They can gut your ability to produce new units if they pile up.<br/>

<t> When you are at 6/7, for instance, you have a percent chance of completing it at the end of your production phase. When you are at 7/7, for instance, you have a percent chance of receiving an additional 1 pt head start on the next level of the tech.<br/>

RE: Is Germany at too great a disadvantage? Patch?

<t> The most ideal opening I've found for Germany is taking the Low Countries, France, and Yugoslavia on your first turn. I then move half my artillery and four fighters or so onto Paris (where my armor is), along with some militia. Mass in Yugoslavia in the East.<br/>

AI and the Axis

<t> First, let me compliment 2x3 and Matrix - you guys have a winner here. WaW seems a nearly perfect balance between a beer-n-cheetos game and a crunchy wargame. There are things missing that I would like to see, and some things are a bit kludgy, but it has kept me up very late for three nights ...
