RE: damage units?

Maybe we should be able to move population units via transport, to get those raw recruits in the USA over to England to rebuild those tank divisions for Patton.

RE: German fighters over England?

They're somewhat useless offensively if you have a rapidly advancing front line, like in the early stages of a Russian invasion. They're not useless defensively for guarding coastal sea zones or infrastructure.

RE: damage units?

<t> It would go back to a factory where you would normally be able to produce some sort of military unit, i.e. one where you can actually use the available population. For instance, I've had fighters go back to Rumania for repair even though Rumania cannot normally produce fighters, because it does ...

RE: question on surprise

<t> Maybe there could be some sort of "coordinated attack" function. If I set up 3 attacks against Russia on my first invasion turn, and I set all 3 up before I actually conduct any one of them, then all 3 should get the surprise. Maybe I have to pay an extra supply point or two for the logistics of ...

RE: Units disapearing in my que

Do you have enough population available to produce them? Are they disappearing or just being delayed?

RE: German fighters over England?

You have to research your fighter speed up to at least 2 (they start at 1) or they'll never be able to get to the UK.

RE: Carrier air battles

<t> My plane was actually crossing a 1-point sea zone and a 2-point sea zone. I'm sure the total was 3 because the little green circle showing remaining movement points showed 0, but maybe the system didn't do the calculation right for the counter-attacking airgroup. There's still no response from ...

I've got a game in Fall '48, I'll let you know if I have the same issue.

Pardon me for the stupid and obvious question, but are your units in supply?

RE: Russian Territory owned by Germans invulnerable?

<t> Basically, you're only "liberating" the territories. The same thing happened to me when WA took Manchuria from Japan and then I liberated it as Germany. I won the battle, Manchuria went back to red, and my units got kicked out to the territory they started from.<br/>

RE: Carrier air battles

The Speed is the issue. My japanese carrier attacked a WA carrier from 3 sea zones away with an airgroup that had been researched to a speed of 3. The WA airgroup still got to counterstrike even though its speed was still only 2.

RE: Operation Sealion

<t> You'd have to have at least 4 transports there to get 1 tank into UK on an amphibious attack. The second number under the transports (where it says 25/3) is it's amphibious attack capacity. It costs 10 points to land a tank and 5 points to land anything else. So if you're only using the 3 ...

<t> I expect there is a large variety of answers to this question, but here's my $.02.<br/>
<br/>
I haven't played WA, Russia or China yet, but for the Axis powers it's more like 5-10% early in the game. You need too much supply and too many units to prepare for the Russia invasion as Germany or ...

I created a thread about the free speed increase on counter-strikes in the support forum and sent a save game with an example. Hopefully we'll find out soon what's up with this one.

GGWaW - free long range aircraft bug

<r> Playing as Japan with Carrier Airgroups researched to a speed of 3 I attack a WA carrier at range 3 (one 1-move zone, one 2-move zone). Even though the WA's carrier airgroups still have a speed of only 2 they are allowed to conduct a range 3 counter-strike.<br/>

Carrier airgroup still not retreating

<t> Playing as Japan I had a Japan vs. US fleet battle with, amongst other units, 5 carriers and 5 airgroups. One of the carriers and one of the airgroups were destroyed in the battle, but while all 4 surviving carriers retreated, only one of the surving airgroups retreated. Is this a known issue ...

RE: No Lan? No TCP/IP? E-Mail only?

<t> I know it's old-fashioned, but have you thought about trying hotseat play? Since only one person at a time takes a turn you could just all play at the same computer. When you're not the man in the seat you can go play something else or websurf on another computer. That's how my friends and I ...
