RE: Will WaW work on an upgraded Win ME?

I had no trouble running GGWaW on Win ME. It worked just fine on my Athlon 600, 512MB Ram computer :)

RE: Graphics problems windows ME (WatW)

I got Win ME to run GGWaW just fine!
I like ME, it's waaaay better than '98, and even 2000, in that I've seen people with 2000 have tons of problems...

RE: Ocean color

You should be able to find the art file without too much trouble, here's a list of the colour codes:

Happy colouring!

RE: Technology suggestion

I like idea #1, with the lower amount of free tech. Helps a little in the "catch-up" and is realistic since it's fairly easy to observe & copy the enemy. To some degree at least.

No, I think the damaged ships move within their speed range to a friendly port for repairs.
Transports are not involved, except for ground troops.

RE: Great Game...some ideas

<r> It's kind of hard to get a sense of that game from those screens. <br/>
I think the WaW players are more interested in 'substance' than in 'eye candy'. Heck, I like to play Stars! which has almost zero eye candy, but lots of replay value <E>:)</E><br/>
Of course GGWaW "could have" been better ...

RE: Random Unfreeze War Entry Dates

<t> How about this idea:<br/>
That the WA player could "call in" the USA, but the factory multiplier for USA would take a hit. It would goto x2,x3 &x4 much later than schedualed, depending on how early they're called. There may be 'triggers' or situations that have to be met before this could be ...

<t> China has very limited production at the beginning, until Japan invades an inland province. It only gets production every third turn, so the other 2 turns show up as you describe.<br/>
Try playing Russia, it's boring at first, but gets fun once the Germans invade! At least you get to see some ...

Naval Movement Costs

<r> I continue to be bothered by the excessive cost of extended naval movement. It seems completely unreasonable that moving from E.Med to W.Med costs the same as crossing the Atlantic or Pacific oceans! Consider the 3 Hvy & 3 Lt fleets the Axis have in the Med. To move E.Med to C.Med costs 6 supply ...

<t> You played several turns like that? Hummm.<br/>
You might re-check the game settings to make sure you have human production & not the default. You can check them during the turn without leaving the game in progress. Otherwise what dembe said is most likely the culpret.<br/>

slmintz, you don't need to "load" the unit onto the transport, you strat move your unit from start to landing point "along" the transports. You need several transports adjacent to the landing zone for amphibious invasions.

RE: Sub resupply bug

<t> Oh! I've seen this one too!<br/>
If you move, supply & then try to move back to whence you came, the computer thinks you're "taking back" your move and un-supplies your sub. Weird eh? Since there's no way to 'force' a move, your only hope is to move into different places until you find a route ...

In our pirate-infested cyber-world, it is sooo easy to copy & P2P games. Thus costing either lost sales or higher expenses if tons of copy-protection is included. And the "protection" will only last a short time, eh? So making people register to get the ...
