How similar to PG?

Hi all, have been waiting for this game to come out, and looks like I'm ready to get it. Just curious though, how close is it to the original PG? What is different?

As I wrote before, I don't understand why German fighter range is still "1" in later scenarios where some sort of development, as well as introduction of Fw 190 already took place.<br/>

RE: Idea for new sound mod

This game takes me back to the old days of PTO for Sega Genesis [:D] I keep hearing that Hawaiian-themed music in the background. I'd love to have that running in the background of WitP [:D]

RE: 3 vs. 36

<r> I thought WaW was very well done. I bought it originally as a game to play when I wanted a break from HoI. I had Axis & Allies, but the AI was crap in that game. WaW was simply intended to replace A&A in my collection. Judging by the screenshots, I figured that was exactly what I was buying, an ...

RE: Noob questions!!

<t> Ok, that makes sense, but raises another question: If CAP only covers the base the planes are in, what would be the point of setting CAP radius at anything other than 1? I assumed that CAP would patrol the whole radius. (Force Z was in the CAP radius of all 4 fighter groups)<br/>

RE: Noob questions!!

<r> Hi all, got some more questions <E>:D</E><br/>
<br/>
What is a good size for TF's? Does it depend on the mission? Is more always better? Or only sometimes, or never? As Allies in '41, is it a good idea to put all 3 CV's together?<br/>

I decided to send Force Z after the landing ships ...

Concerning fuel and how much ships use: Here's an example I'll use by showing a few screen shots. Basically range is dependent on fuel, but this is determined by how efficient the vessel is...so BB's are going to expend a lot more fuel than ...

Noob questions!!

<r> Hi all, just spent a couple days getting acquainted with WitP, and prior to my "real start" [:D], I have some questions for which I could not find answers (or find where to look in the manual)<br/>

1) I understand the need for support for bases, and that less than the required support at ...

RE: Considering getting WitP, some questions

<t> Yeah, I can see that now [:D]. What I ended up doing was to put everything but the Pearl Harbor sector under AI control, then when things stabilise a bit, (if they do) I can take back control of some areas.<br/>

Really enjoying it so far though. I recalled playing PTO on my Sega Genesis ...

Considering getting WitP, some questions

<r> Hi all, I've been considering getting this game for a little while, and have been lurking around the forums a bit, and have some questions:<br/>
<br/>
How long (in hours) would you estimate a campaign would take, assuming I stated as early as possible? (Is there a '41-'45 campaign?)<br/>

RE: GGWAW vs HOIT2

<r> I own both games, as well as the first HoI. To be perfectly honest, I prefer HoI to HoI2 (although the latter has some nice features and tweaked combat engine that would have been welcome in HoI)<br/>
<br/>
I enjoy both games, for different reasons. HoI is full of little details that the ...
