RE: Pilots

Thought I'd use this thread for my question since it's also about pilots.

On the pilot experience screen, in the squadrons themselves, green numbers are increases from the previous turn, correct? Also, what are orange numbers?

RE: p-38E in 9/42

Schweinfurt was indeed the worst raid in World War 2, 60 of 291 B-17s were lost, and a further 17 that made it back either crashed or were written off due to damage.

RE: "defensive" carrier - gamey?

<t> The only way I see it as gamey is if after trashing an incoming strike from your opponents carriers you then switch most of your fighters out for strike aircraft and attack him. In game it's a matter of just flying the planes around, in reality I'm pretty sure it would have required more time ...

.500 Smith and Wessen Revolver for pistols, and the Boys Anti-Tank Rifle are the biggest I've fired. That anti-tank rifle was damn fun to shoot, the revolver was just painful.

RE: F4F - 7 recon

There's a wonderful thing on most carriers called a catapult. I'm pretty sure they could launch a fully loaded F4F-7 with no problems, hell they launched P-47's off jeep carriers thanks to catapults, and we're even operating F4U's off jeep carriers in the Korean War.

Thats just how the game goes for now, and I side with the developers on adding the arcade value where "allies are handicapped into historic choices". Problem is if the developers know they made a historical game and it couldn't sell, there's no way ...

Same with units in training. If you have 4 fragments and 3 units in training, they all count as 2 units for administrative stacking.

Do you mean units with training as their mission?

Something I didn't see in there that's pretty important is altitude settings for units like Dive Bombers. Don't they only dive bomb from certain altitudes and at other altitudes they'll glide bomb?

Combat at Altitude Ceilings

Say you have a fighter with a ceiling of 20,000 feet, and you put it on cap at 20,000 feet. Then the enemy comes in with a fighter sweep at 25,000 feet, will the fighter on cap climb above its ceiling to engage at 25,000 feet or does the game force the sweep down to 20,000 feet?
