By the end of blizzard the motorised forces had returned to winter quarters and we were pretty much back where we started!

Btw, im thinking it is going to be very hard for us to capitalize on any breaches in the enemy lines. We dont have any motorized units to push through! Whenever we make a breach the germans have plenty of time to clog it. : )

that is just the reality, this is why I push for Cavalry, 15-21 MP can help alot
Darojax, Soviet Centre Commander
Its going to be a 1 or max 2 hex advance every turn for us....

Also, operation no one left behind will have to be drastically changed in light of recent event
Mamluke, Soviet South Commander
ho, my original plans will have to be adjusted, the Germans have the 1st and 4th Mountain division near Rostov, along with 2 Light infantry + Axis allies Mountain specialist. these are the worst units to be in my area[
in other words, the pressure to Kharkov will be weaken, I rather not focus on the Rostov Axis if the enemy insist on defending the Rostov-Donets area with a lot of Mountain units..

While it is true that using armies of Rumanians would mean they just get routed and leave huge gaps there are good ways to use them nevertheless
i) Mountain units are still very good - probably know that already
ii) Cavalry units are very good behind the front line as reserve activators, If you make sure they have the full MPs they will usually activate once a turn and provide that little extra CV to tip the balance of battles.
iii) Allied infantry can be used simply as a way to eat up MPs and get routed away - but you still need a German infantry line between or behind them
iv) stacked with German units
vi) digging in lines to which the front line will fallback on
vii) as reargruards you do not mind losing - and that Soviets do not want to spend time encircling and forcing to surrender
viii) As dummy units to get the SUs - you do not care about their CV but they get another HQ in on a battle with all of their artillery and other SUs added to it. Battle penalties apply only to CVs, not disruption by artillery!
it is worth remembering that morale penalties from first blizzard do not apply if morale is less then 55 - which is most of your allies. You would rather see a Rumanian than a German die, so let them take the attrition. And they will have all summer to recover while in garrisons then.
Key to this though is you mix them up with Germans. Put allied units into German HQs, and German units into allied HQs. Where they do get routed away they can then just be rested in the rear for a couple of turns before being fit to come back.

I've used air to resupply the mountain troops
made one counterattack, lost a lot of rumanians but routed 2,5 divisions

the offensive at the Rostov front, Progress is slow
On the other hand, it costs 19 if you dismiss him. And you have to dismiss him because he's in Downfall.ORIGINAL: Telemecus
T026 Axis Jodl
Jodl appointed to head AGS. He seems to not be a very popular choice with many players ....
But as KenchiSulla tested for this game that not only does the range penalty not apply to morale but niether does the command penalty. In which case, as AGS has not been split, it makes sense to give them a leader with good morale that can be spread over all those units. Plus as head of an army group will stop him being appointed head of an army where his other stats matter more!

He better have good Army commanders.

+1 is a game balancer .. but .. the Soviets are losing manpower the combats were bloody ..one lost 60 tanks (mostly light tanks)

I'm going for a HQ BU in the south...
to resupply the mountains in LII Corps

KenchiSulla, Axis South Commander
The LII HQ build up corps
has pulled in almost 500 additional supply points
for next turn
About 200 supply went into each division
So that is about 1300 supply and ammo
Telemecus, Axis Supreme Commander
what was the effect on them
combat and MP wise did you see a difference this turn?
KenchiSulla, Axis South Commander
Movement not that much
but well supplied now
about 70% east of Stalino
which is great
Interesting fact
It tried to pull 3600 supplies
KechiSulla, Axis South Commander
I can counterattack and push back a couple of RDs
Which I am tempted to do, he'll have to pull back part of the line come feb or march
as the low part of the force is being blocked by Rumanian mountain troops

Only in this game it will end with the Death of Stalin! But I am sure we can get him a part still!
Did someone forget to INP? [:D]
