Modding Scenario - will AI play along?

Have tried to search for an answer regarding this, but seem to come up short. So hopefully some with a deeper knowledge of the game will be able to help.

1. If I make a scenario, say based on DaBabesLiteA, where I use the reduced cargo capacities from BigBabes C and play around with industry inputs and outputs, will the AI abide by those changes or will it "cheat" to keep things going?

2. I know the AI "ignores" stacking penalties, but does it also ignore garrison requirements?

Pretty much always as far as I can tell. But then they state that fact upfront in the rules manual.

Yes, it seems so. Garrison requirements were possibly a feature that was taking too long to program or more likely was deemed too much of a handicap on the AI's limited offensive capabilities.

The AI uses scripts and to carry out those scripts it ignores many of the human rules, stacking limits is probably just one of them but it won't or I've not seen anything in excess.

As far as I know it does the following
As to cargo limits it does not 'cheat', it can't you can't put more into ship than it's capacity. It does teleport ships however.

As to industry. It always seems to follow the rules but it doesn't as far as I know generate extra supply but it will move it around and playing on hard etc boost the amount of supply generated.

There's a lot of thing the AI doesn't do well, most importantly the itelligence bit.

AI would use the same cargo ships and the same industry that you set your scenario up with.

To my best knowledge, individual base garrison has no meaning to the AI. however, it would likely (I have never tested this) also suffer the VP pts losses of not meeting this requirement.

Exception: I do believe that some hard code is used to maintain the 8000 garrison number for the IJ in Manchukuo. I say this because I've never seen the AI trigger the SOV, and we know that the AI can/will grab units for its scripts as it needs them. It clearly does NOT grab units from Manchukuo.

Thanks Pax for your insights.

I was thinking that too many garrison requirements would have the AI hit with many VP losses and you basically confirm that.

Yeah, well, most of us AI players ignore VP's anyway. I mean the AI doesn't ever spend any, they are meaningless to it.

So, in effect, you are potentially penalizing the human player.
