V1.05.00 – 6th September 2026
New Features and Rule Changes
- New Editor Scenario tab: Production Usage % is now editable — the Axis cell prompts for Axis and Axis Allies, the Soviet cell for the Soviet Union.
- New Editor Unit tab: Movement Points and Strat Movement Points can now be set directly, replacing the old editor's hidden click-on-the-counter hotspot. Leader is now hidden on HQs in which the game never reads a leader (air bases, construction/FBD and amphibious HQs).
- New Editor - Ground element lists in the editor now show nationality and first-available date — "Rifle Squad 41 (GER 6/41)" — in the element list and in every ground-element picker. The search box matches those too, so "GER" or "41" now filter by nation and year.
- New Editor - Air group pilot lists now show pilot fatigue next to experience (read-only; edit it via CSV).
Combat
- Fixed a heavily disrupted ground element wrapping its shot budget — a single damaged tankette could record thousands of hits in one combat round.
- Fixed elements being dropped from a combat round while they still had ready equipment, and in other cases firing after their type was already destroyed.
- Fixed a won attack reporting vehicle losses "to retreat" for rear-area units that were never in the battle. The units are still displaced and still take attrition — the losses just no longer land in that battle's report.
- Fixed the combat detail screen dropping an element's losses, and its shots and kills, the first time that element appeared in a battle.
- Fixed a city fort garrison being left behind for the attacker when its stack retreated, while an unrelated unit — sometimes one of the attacker's — was dragged through the retreat in its place and could be destroyed.
- Fixed an air group holding more historical pilots than its aircraft establishment minting hundreds of phantom pilots, each drawing manpower from the national pool.
- Fixed uncrewed aircraft booking pilot casualties (KIA/WIA/MIA) and claiming kills, experience and group score for a pilot that does not exist.
- Fixed transport sorties flying with nobody aboard, corrupting pilot records and dragging the flight's average skill toward zero. A ready transport with no available pilot now stays on the ground.
- Fixed air directive way points being wiped every time a game was loaded. Directives from older saves need drawing once more.
- Fixed visiting Create Challenge permanently switching your Axis side to computer control in your saved preferences — the main menu then read "Axis: Computer" and your next single-player first turn was ended for you. If your setup is already flipped, set it back once on the main menu.
- Newly created June-1941 campaign challenges now start with the Soviet first-turn handicap, matching single player. Challenges already uploaded keep their current state.
- Fixed crashes to desktop when a multiplayer download, upload or turn submission failed — the error is now reported with a retry instead of the process vanishing with nothing on screen.
- Fixed a partially read save being uploaded zero-padded, leaving the receiving player with a game they could not load and no indication why.
- Fixed a malformed lobby entry aborting sign-in entirely, so you could not reach the lobby for any of your games — and fixed one being able to read past the end of its own data.
- Fixed a failed compression silently uploading garbage, which left both players permanently stuck in a game with no Play button.
- Fixed the maximum chat message length being set by your UI scale (256 characters at 100%, 896 at 350%).
- Fixed lobby chat past the sixth message being silently discarded on the round trip.
- Fixed a decode failure re-running scenario setup on a downloaded game — rewinding the turn counter to 1, clearing the loss and VP ledger, and replacing the agreed options with the loading player's own preferences.
- Fixed a scenario carrying its own generic data reporting all 16 generic files as modified, putting a false "Contains modified unofficial data" banner on the load screen and in the lobby — including on challenges published from a fresh launch.
- Fixed the challenge screen drawing another challenge's agreed options and password while the game list refreshed, and fixed the lobby reading that list mid-refresh.
- Fixed the progress bar drawing off-centre after a window resize during a server fetch.
- Fixed the Campaign End Condition of pre-1.04.16 saved games reading back as Standard — an Extended or No Early End campaign would end early — and the national morale modifiers alongside it reading one nation off. Archived saves opened for the first time on this build are repaired.
- Preferences are now tagged with a format version, so a future option change cannot silently shift every setting again.
- Fixed a stale legacy morale modifier overwriting your Early and Late national morale settings on every saved-game load.
- Fixed aircraft Range being editable — it is derived from cruise speed, endurance and drop tanks. It is now read-only and refreshed everywhere it is shown, including the aircraft card and group radius readouts.
- Fixed ground element Range showing a stale cached value in generic-data sessions (the Wespe read 12000 against a 13500 gun). Now derived and read-only.
- Removed Cut from the Unit and Air Group lists and fixed Paste manufacturing ghost aircraft; also fixed inserting or deleting air groups corrupting the owning air command's group list.
- Fixed CSV export writing nothing and saying nothing when the file was open in Excel. Exports now confirm the row count written, or name the likely cause of failure.
- Editor - Fixed the new editor's air group rebuild reporting bogus "Pilot[N].plane missing an aircraft" errors in the scenario check, and leaving a group claiming more aircraft than it was actually given.
- Fixed garbled characters in the Leader Death, Amphibious Invasion and Campaign End game-option tooltips, and in the post-air-phase message.
- Fixed the "Exit Editor" rollover note being left behind on the main menu.

V1.04.22 – 13th August 2026
New Features and Rule Changes- The game can now use up to 4 GB of memory on 64-bit Windows instead of 2 GB. Long sessions were exhausting the old limit, which is what caused late-session text and graphics failures.
- New editor improvements:
- unit tab now has Combat Prep, Restrict Rebuild and Arrival Hex.
- editor CSV import now matches columns by header name, so files exported by earlier builds still import correctly when new columns are added. Unrecognized column names are now reported instead of being silently dropped.
- Combat Prep and Restrict Rebuild are now included in Units.csv export and import.
- Fixed being unable to leave the new editor's event text popup — its Save and Cancel buttons did nothing.
- Fixed the event text popup drawing in the wrong place after a window resize, which also left an invisible click-blocking region over the editor.
- Fixed crashes and memory corruption when the graphics device fails to hand back a text buffer — most likely in long sessions or at high UI scaling.
- New editor Scenario tab: Admin Points and Men Disabled prompts labelled the Axis column "Soviet" and left the Soviet column blank.
- New editor Scenario tab: "Admin Points per Turn" overwrote the side's current Admin Points instead of setting the per-turn value.
- New editor Scenario tab: the Score modifier field on short scenarios wrote outside its own storage and corrupted nearby scenario data.
- Fixed the editor sometimes applying a map hex pick to the wrong field after an earlier placement was abandoned.
- Creating a depot in the editor no longer costs 1 admin point.
- Stalingrad to Berlin Campaigns(s):
- Removed 2nd PVO Command HQ
- Removed airfield in 2,1
- Converted thirty-three German Pioneer Battalions from Non-Motorized to Motorized.
- Made Poti an Export Port for the Soviets
- Fixed all Marine Flak Regiments and Marine Flak Battalions so they use Marine OBs
- Axis Flak Unit Strengths went up from approximately 45-50% of TO&E to approximately 80%
- Increased starting Axis Administrative Points

- Fixed all Marine Flak Regiments and Marine Flak Battalions so they use Marine OBs
- Axis Flak Unit Strengths went up from approximately 45-50% of TO&E to approximately 90%
- Vistula to Berlin
- Converted nineteen German Pioneer Battalions from Non-Motorized to Motorized.
- Made Novorossiysk, Odessa and Sevastopol Export Ports for the Soviets and Constanta an Import Port to facilitate Naval Supply in the Black Sea for the Soviets.
- Fixed all Marine Flak Regiments and Marine Flak Battalions so they use Marine OBs
- Axis Flak Unit Strengths went up from approximately 45-50% of TO&E to approximately 90%
V1.04.21 – 9th July 2026
New Features and Rule Changes- Support units attached directly to combat units now take river-crossing disruption when committed to a ground attack. Note: Support units attached to HQs that commit into combat, and artillery units firing from 2 hexes distant, do not suffer disruption due to cross river attacks.
- Changes/improvements to “New editor”:
- Added a read-only OB Chains tab to the new editor — shows the order-of-battle chain hierarchy with sticky header, nation/buildable filters, a search box, and jump links into the TOE editor.
- Units can now be placed on or taken off the map directly from the unit tab — a new Remove from Map action, plus click the Map X,Y field to enter placement mode.
- Added a Corps Composition section to the unit editor for editing Soviet Rifle/Cavalry corps makeup, with duplicate-component checking.
- Added CSV export/import files of Unit and Air-Group renames, available in both scenario and generic mode.
- Added per-set Calculate and Calculate All buttons to recompute weapon-set stats, with more accurate gun classification (fixes previously mis-classified guns).
- Ground Types editor tab now lists the ground elements belonging to the selected type.
- Clicking a unit, city, or group title in a detail display while on map now opens the new editor (instead of the legacy editor windows) when the old-editor toggle is off.
- Linked-object fields in the new editor (e.g. Higher HQ, OB "Linked With") can now be reset to none, with an always-visible "Set to none" button.
- Fixed combat prep not being gained by in-fort support units, city-attached AA, and interior fort garrisons (now x3 when fort not adjacent to an enemy hex).
- Fixed broken-down Soviet Rifle/Cavalry corps not counting toward the Corps build limit, which could let players exceed the cap.
- Fixed stray squad/equipment data on empty slots being kept on load instead of cleared.
- Fixed editor crashes (CTD) caused by stacking and dismissing input popups.
- Fixed a crash when selecting an item in editor list views after switching to a smaller dataset.
- Fixed the editor view going stale/blank after entering a numeric or text value.
- Fixed the weapon set Calculate and Calculate All functions that misclassified some aircraft devices.
- Ob.dat file change – Unlinked OB 2356 (Militia Rifle Division) from Rifle Division OB. Militia divisions will not be able to build up into rifle corps.
- Device.dat file changes – Adjusted load cost of many aircraft cannon devices.
- Ac.dat file changes – Recalculated aircraft weapon sets to pick up changes in device load costs and utilize the fix to Calculate All function in editor.
New Features and Rule Changes- “New editor” now feature complete:
- Redesigned scenario / nation / leader / aircraft / ground / location / weather / OB views with collapsible sections, color inputs, a popup event-text editor, and a tabbed weather view.
- CSV import/export for Air Profiles, Ground Types, Nations, Events, Locations, Units, and Orders of Battle, with data-integrity validation and reporting.
- Editor sections (tabs) are color coded to indicate files that are generic, semi-generic, or scenario specific, and items that will not be saved off are greyed out to show this:
Purple stripe – semi-generic files, some data may be edited/saved only when generic data is loaded, and other data may be edited/saved only when a scenario is loaded. CSV is coded purple as both generic and scenario data can be exported/imported.
No stripe – scenario specific, can only be edited/saved off when a scenario is loaded.- The greater than symbol (>) indicates a link to the data shown. For example, the > next to Franz Halder in the detail for OKH in the unit tab, will open the leader tab and take you to the data for Franz Halder.
- Can use right mouse-click and/or back button to back-up through current session actions.
- Per-nation production-pool editing in EditAircraft, EditGround, and EditNation, plus a per-player production-pool summary in EditScenario.
- Pilot Pool table editing ported into the new editor.
- Event Group & Sort by tag, and location grouping by nation and type, in the new editor.
- Toggle for map art visibility, sync-map-text, and city-owner change in EditLocationView.
- Weather-fronts tab, edit-origin/target prompts, and movement-cost/river-cost tables in EditWeatherView.
- In the CSV tab, new unified Scenario Validator that combines the old scenario-consistency check and CSV data validation into a single report.
- Unified tag-list editing across units, events, and leaders, with clearer add and remove (×) controls.
- Leader tagging now works just like unit tagging — tag leaders from the leader page or the Tags editor.
- In the unit tab, new "Sub To" (subordinate to) control lets you fix units that point at empty/invalid unit slots.
- Factories can now be edited in Generic Data, with a tooltip showing the factory's online/delay date.
- Additional Editor Improvements:
- DPI scaling for legacy map-edit panels.
- Lazy on-demand map-font glyph loading in the editor.
- Leaders can now be selected as objects in the event editor.
- Added new game event to enable/disable a leader (a disabled leader automatically vacates his command and stays out of the leader pool).
- Unit Detail and TOE displays now sort equipment by class and a curated ground-type order (armored cars sit next to AFVs).
- Ground Element Map now lists ground types in the same curated order as the production screen.
- Server upload errors now distinguish a transient read failure from genuine out-of-memory, with separate user-visible codes.
- Rule Clarification: This chart shows which units have ground elements that suffer disruption at the start of combat due to attacking across a river hex side:
Non-motorized-----------No--------------------Disruption-----------------Disruption--------------N/A
Motorized-----------------No--------------------Disruption-----------------Disruption--------------N/A
Non-motorized-----------Yes-------------------No Disruption-------------No Disruption----------No Disruption
Motorized-----------------Yes-------------------No Disruption-------------Disruption--------------Disruption- Updated the Living Manual.pdf file in the \Manuals folder. This is up to date with changes through game version 1.04.19.
- Fixed artillery bombardment phase of ground combat so that ground elements that are disrupted before the phase begins will not fire during the bombardment phase.
- Fixed air group counter text color in TB boxes.
- Fixed it so supply distribution skips the slot 0 depot during the freight phase.
- Fixed engine crash from out-of-memory or uninitialized texture coordinates in font rendering.
- Fixed font style and spacing in the Pilot Pools section.
- Corrected "Withdraw" label (previously "Widraw").
- Corrected "multiplayer" in server save messages (previously "mutiplayer").
- Production screen now transitions through the map before opening (editor).
- Restored attack disruption when non-motorized attacking across unfrozen minor rivers (a regression since 1.04.14 that affected non-motorized units).
- German 1944 Fortress Cannons now receive the correct anti-tank casualty protection instead of taking full losses.
- Fixed long unit names and the "Manpower (Refit)" header overlapping other columns on the Ground Element Map.
- Frozen rivers are now visible on the map when the ground-weather display is on — previously the frozen-river graphic blended into the snow and effectively disappeared.
- Frozen rivers now take on their frozen look at the correct ice level (matching when freezing actually affects crossing), and impassable rivers no longer appear frozen too early.
- Fixed ground-weather terrain art being missing the first time the ground-weather display was enabled — it no longer needs a second toggle to appear.
- Factory.dat file changes
