Turn 10 (Execution Phase (this is execution of phase 9 planning by both the German and Allies)
Execution Phase
Carentan Area
The 91st Inf Div units in the yellow box are arriving just in time after being relived by the 243rd Inf Div last turn. These boys are going to be needed badly in between the two American Beachheads. The rest of the battlefield sees sparodic shelling and the Americans stopped at Insigny, for the Moment with a regular German 352nd Battlion in the Town.

Nothing much happened here except for some shelling during the execution phase. Some typical results following snapshot (Nothing to write home around for the Germans, plus doesn't help I have FOW of -4 on this either)

Planning Phase
Reenforcements!!!!!!
About time I get some more men. Of course they all come in at night time. I put them on road movement to get them to the front quickly at night thus you will see the "blue" lines where they went and which units start where are marked on the snapshot.
And I get another Bridge DEMO unit and an artillery unit attached to a Corps HQ. Decided "not" to spend the 8 fuel points to road move these guys so they are just going to hoof it normally. (I try and take units over different roads otherwise they congest up the roadways and some units may not move all the way through all the traffic. ALSO and VERY IMPORTANT stacking is enforced 100% ALL the time!!! I learned that one the hard way.... TWICE!!!! From what I have seen you cannot at all move through a hex with 9 stacking points (18 in a city hex). You want to move through it you will have to adhere to the staking through that hex at all times. ALSO, I lost a unit because it couldn't retreat through a stacked hex (I am not 100% sure on this but sure as heck looked that way why I lost the unit. I will bring it out when we get to turn 13.

Turn 10 (Execution Phase (this is execution of phase 9 planning by both the German and Allies)
Planning Phase
Caen Area
I plan on blowing the two bridges marked by the yello box (40% chance on each)
Also note the pink area. These units have been trying to move for a few turns now and I hope they finally get to their destination. Artillery and failed rolls on movement plagued their movement. Overall since this is a night turn I have learned to limit movement, attacks, and bombardment to a bare minimum.
Still have a large "no man's land" in between the Germans and the British & Canadians. Why I took the chance of the road movement (blue line) going through Caen area. If at any time road movement goes by a hex of the enemy the enemy gets to fire on you free of charge with no firing back on your part. So I take the chance

Turn 10 (Execution Phase (this is execution of phase 9 planning by both the German and Allies)
Planning Phase
Carentan St Lo Area
*White box area has the bridges set for DEMO. Would be nice to get all three of them.
*I have setup defense in the hedgerows where the blue line it. Good defensive terrain.
*I move the 91st Inf Div units through Carentan to set up defense between Carentan and Igsigny
Darn pesky American Bridge unit moved
. Bet he is going to build a pontoon across the river here
I have a Delima on my hand since I am not 100% sure when the bridge blowing will take place. So to err on the side of caution I retreat my unit around a potential bridge blowing exercise that would leave my TD's on the wrong side of the river. (Dark Blue rivers you can't cross except by bridge or pontoon, Light blue you can cross unless it has a blown bridge then you can't)

Turn 10 (Execution Phase (this is execution of phase 9 planning by both the German and Allies)
Planning Phase
Utah Area
* Yellow box units are the last of the 91st Inf Div heading toward Carentan
* Pink box are units that are low on readiness I am getting off the front line to recover quicker. (this was kind of a dumb move since you pay 3x the cost at night time and recover nothing since you moved, I learn but not very quickly, lol ) I replace the units with fresh units.
Valognes is a Victory Point City by the way.
VP Total end of Turn 10
Feeling pretty good so far. I know I need to attack but at the same time not weaken myself to counterattack. I am still learning and watching what Timian does on his attacks. So I have a decent idea what to do and what is important but I wont get a bad bloody nose until turn 13 which really showed me a few things. But you will have to suffer through turns 11 and 12 before you get to laugh at me ;-p[. Until then here is the VP total for the turn, I am winning!!!!.... But again I realize there are One Hundred and twenty five turns left to go

Allied Turns 10 and 11
During Turn 10, most of the Allied units rested / Their Quality was below 80%.
However, the British elected to move part of 6th Para + 1st Special Service (Commando) Brigade into a position to attack Cabourg (Northeast of Caen and Pegusus Bridge) on Turn 11.
As mentioned, 6th Para attacked to seize the the hex just Southwest of Cabourg.

6th Para's Attack Odds, Results, etc.

In the Center (just West of Gold / one and three hexes East of Port-en-Bessin) the US and British attack to link-up.

Isgny . . . Two of the US 2nd Infantry Division's Regiments + its Recon Company attack to seize Isgny with the 29th Infantry's Artillery attacking to fix the German Reserves (one hex West of Isgny). The remaining Infantry Regiment (from 2nd Infantry) + the Divisional Engineers and 741st Tank Battalion attack to destroy the German Ost Battalion one hex Southwest of Isgny.

2nd Infantry's Odds, Results, etc.

29th Infantry's fixing attack . . .

There is piece in quiet in the Utah area. Not even a bombardment happened here by either side. Very strange... Oh that is right, it is night time ;-P. Night time is 3 times the cost to do things so best to stay put unless you have to be somewhere is the rule of thumb.

I have planned movement of two 243rd units show in the snapshot. I also set up defensive artillery for the Germans on expected attack vectors by the Americans. You can see in the 2nd photo I have 7 points of defensive artillery for the hex.

Carentan
This area is super important to me. I want to keep the Americans seperated as long as I can and have been reinforcing this area. The Yellow box has two 352nd Battlions that are at full strength. But my intention is to let them hold as long as possible while I get more units for the Americans to fight through and blow more bridges since Carentan is a VP city and getting across rivers are a pain.
The White box shows my bridge battalion trying to blow the bridge. They successfully blew the bottom bridge in the box but failed on the top on.
I have two Battalions of the KG265 setting up this turn to dig in behind the river. And 91st Inf Division is firmly entrenched in Carentan.
And yes I should have kept a better eye on the darn American Bridging unit. I didn't reinforce the 91st LW engineering company NE of Carentan

Game is going well and really enjoying playing this fine game. I feel comfortable on this turn and let my guard down a bit. But I know when I do that something always happens I didn't exactly expect but expected it. If that makes sense. Here are the Victory Points so far this turn with 124 turns left to go.
