resupply air bases

New players here, searched the manual but didn't find this specific game choice mentioned. I'm familiar with and somewhat understand how to use the Depots, Rail System, and Priority to move supply to my units, and I thought that included air bases and AOGs.

But then, when right-clicking on the ...

Yes, 68 in the port symbol = 68,000 port capacity.

Interesting test of Bomber strike size

<t> I've been curious about this for a long time so spent a few hours today running some tests. Using the Air Campaign introductory scenario I sorted and organized my Air Groups using the Turn 1 advice from HarryBanana's Guide to Strategic Bombing. I kept the ADs simple, 1 strategic Bombing of Essen ...

RE: I cant unload in harbor

<t> Your Transportation Cost, 83,818, is larger than the Port Capacity, you see that inside the anchor symbol above the Port in F3 mode. It is definitely the assigned SUs. As you Assign them to other HQs you can watch your Transport Cost go down until it is below the capacity of the port you're ...

<t> After my 3rd 1943 campaign in the past month I feel like I'm getting a handle on this massive, incredibly detailed and amazing military simulation. Congrats to the developers!<br/>

National Reserve

<t> Hi, playing the Allies in a Campaign game. I don't understand the purpose of the National Reserve. I've read everything in the Living manual so I understand the mechanics, but I don't understand it from the game play perspective. Should I occasionally go around my airbases and assign every air ...

RE: v1.02.59 Beta available now

I was down to the last few turns in a 1943-1945 campaign game when I started using the latest Public Beta. On the following turns I was unable to Create Depot in what appeared to be appropriate hexes. Has anyone else experienced this with the 1.02.59 beta?

I make that mistake about once every three months of game time. :-)

More than 1 AS helpful

Is there incremental benefit to having more than one of the same type auxiliary ship at a base? For example, if I'm setting a forward submarine base would having several AS in the base provide more/faster support than just one?

RE: KB has gone MIA

Lecivius, I was curious because the AI reacted instantly to my Guadalcanal landing, kept the KB circling around Lunga for several months after. Then they left and were gone for 4-5 months. But they just returned in a big way, so all good.

RE: KB has gone MIA

Good idea pontiouspilot (p.s. I was born in Nova Scotia). I went in and looked, the KB itself was up around TRUK and now a few turns later it showed up on the strategic map along with a 2nd CVL task force staging a major raid through the Marshall Islands and headed toward Johnston Island.

RE: KB has gone MIA

<r> That's good to know, I knew I wasn't ready to face a 4-5 CV group in 42 so was nibbling around the edges and dodging away. But my headline was a bit misleading, I haven't seen any reaction at all, no offensive TFs <U><s></s>of any size<e></e></U>, anywhere in the active operations areas ...

KB has gone MIA

<t> I'm playing my 1st full campaign as Allied vs. the computer AI on hard difficulty. It's May 1943 and I haven't seen a significant Japanese surface or air combat TF threaten any of my amphibious landing operations around PM-Milne-Buna, Guadalcanal, or the Gilbert Islands in 3 or 4 months. Is that ...

RE: Any Interface Mods that are "must haves" for new player?

<r> I found and started using Combat Reporter recently. Wow, it's an incredibly useful tool for reading the various turn reports generated. Unlike the confusing array of info presented by the game the info is very nicely sorted in much more useful categories. The way I'd expect to get it in my daily ...

<t> Hi, I'm new to WitPAE, enjoying it but quite a learning curve. I've spent many hours seaching for knowledge, tips, etc. in the forums, thanks everyone!<br/>

RE: Public Beta 1.02.35 is Now Available

<t> Really very impressive to see the development team still posting updates this long after the initial release!
