RE: Permission to Make changes???

Excellent! The game loads just fine, so I am now starting my learning curve.

Thank you very much for what looks like a fine game.

Permission to Make changes???

<t> I have installed AB and clicked on the shortcut icon to launch the game.<br/>
<br/>
I got a message asking me "Do you want to allow this app to make changes on your device?" (I confirmed this was from the game start icon, not the install execute file.)<br/>
<br/>
That seems odd. Is it ...

<t> I am eager to buy. I have been watching this game in the [coming soon] category for a long time, and it seems fascinating. <br/>

I recognize how tempting it must have been simply to declare the game to be "good enough" and launch it before its time. My thanks for trying hard to get it ...

RE: How do I start?

<t> 1. Unlike other games, you will never "master" WITP-AE. There is always more to learn! This frustrates some people, but it is what keeps the game alive for me. <br/>
<br/>
2. The joy of the game is in the playing, not in winning the whole game. (Heck... the campaign game lasts so long I ...

AE's size and complexity means there is a steep learning curve. Some of the things we miss, whether new or experienced, can gut us. We learn those things, either through the school of hard knocks or by picking things up through the Forum ...

Ironman Nasty Nasty - It really is!

<t> Wow! I am an allied fanboy who just had his head handed to him by Ironman Nasty Nasty on very hard settings. I was cocky enough to think I needed all of Andy Mac's best shots just to find a decent challenge. Hah! I am not even close to having what it takes to tackle Nasty Nasty. Well done, Andy ...

RE: PP's (political points) a discussion

<r> Hans raises an interesting point about desire to use commands to reflect real organization.<br/>

I would like the ability to swap between unrestricted commands at zero pp. That would permit players to organize armies, corps, fleets, etc. while preserving the limitations of restricted ...

Still at it... sort of. Pesky real life distractions keep getting in the way.

By the way, it is fun to read the names of so many fine "forumites". I owe many of you strong thanks for all the help the forum has provided to me.

RE: Headquarters Units Help!

<t> Welcome Zulurider,<br/>

It is also important to note the difference between "restricted" and "unrestricted" HQ. Units assigned to restricted HQ cannot be moved by sea. Most of us do not let such units cross national boundaries by land or air either. (The restricted HQ and its units ...

I thought AE was supposed to take up all of our time and prevent our doing silly things like terrorizing citizens, (or work, or lawn mowing, or remembering anniversaries, etc.)

It must not have been our Moose ... unless he was looking for a terminal to check on a turn.

RE: Political point cost per device

<t> I share the wish that one could create "tidy" command structures with minimal or zero PP cost for non-restricted units of the same nationality. It would permit a better sense of structure for our forces. Given that command structure doesn't matter in game terms we ignore the tangled structures ...
