RE: You have to laugh at this fight

Collisions are nasty I had 2 of my fleet oilers collide between the west coast and Pearl and I don't know if I can get them to port in time. . .

RE: AI is just too aggressive

<t> I have also seen 2 BBs, 2 CA bombardment runs against Pearl. KB split into 3-4 TFs with CVLs and CVE in tow and had circled Java like Indians against a wagon train from early March to Mid May. I shot down about 250 Kates & Vals. but lost nearly all my Dutch, Brit, Aus, early American fighter ...

RE: Fortress Java - House of Cards

<t> I too am seeing similar results in my game against the AI. Singapore fell on Feb 24th and within days, Java was invaded at Merak and some other minor ports. The Phillipines fell in late March. I used March to strengthen Port Moresby using my carriers then prepped to reinforce Java. KB showed up ...

RE: What's the Sir Robin strategy?

<t> I think its great that we're having this discussion, even if its old to some.&nbsp; With IJ Auto victory on Jan 1 1943 requiring (I&nbsp;think) only 4X the Allies points,&nbsp;at some point in the 1/2 half of '42, the Allies&nbsp;should make some kind of stand or ambush, somewhere.<br/>

RE: What's the Sir Robin strategy?

<t> I'm new to the forum, but I took it to mean the Allies evacuating fragments and whole units from DEI, PI, Singapore using whatever means possible, boat, plane, sub. The idea is to deny the Japs points. The next question would be the best position to make a stand, Some say Java, Timor, or Oz.<br ...

RE: Strategic bombing of Rabaul

<t> Are larger BBs and CA suseptable to critrical hits by 4E bombers conducting port attacks? I remember reading somewhere that each hit has a 3% chance of a critical hit. I recall when playing the AI, I could sink the AI's BBs and CA by critical hits in port (after hitting the BBs with 100+/- hits ...

Here in Arizona you're not allowed to complain about the heat unless its over 115F. Since the HI is 116F [>:] in your neck of the country I guess a little whinning is OK. [;)]

<t> I would recommend Shelby Foote's 3 volume as a starting point.&nbsp; Certainly 'states rights' played a big role.&nbsp; In 1860, a person from St Petersburg conisidered himself a Virginian first.&nbsp; Before the civil war, people described America as "These" United States.&nbsp; Afterwards, it ...

<t> watch then the British carriers gets transfered to SWPAC. I would watch out for 2 axis of attack; 1 through Timor-Ambiona-Northern NG and the other through CentPAC (to isolate SouthPAC from the east and north and capture the marianas. The allies would have around 7-8 CVs plus by mid '43 about 3 ...
