Yeah this is a reported bug. It is not in versions prior to 7.0.1

Re: Collapsing Vichy in Missed the Bus

Allies align minor is an effect resulting from a voluntary alignment by the Allies. It does not apply to actions taken by the Axis. For example there's no negative US entry effect when Germany DoW's Poland and it is aligned to the CW, or when Germany DoW's Belgium or the Netherlands and they align w...

Probably you ran it from your desktop. Put it in a folder first.

Re: changing MP games to SP

Open the file with a text editor like notepad. The very top line will have the version number, then a comma then a 10 (if it is global war) then a comma, then a 2. A zero there means solitaire, a 1 means head to head and a 2 means Netplay. Change that last 2 to a zero and save the file. Make sure th...

Re: USA violates the Trade with Japan no chit lost - Bug

It is pretty simple really. If the US can deliver the required resources as far as the Central Pacific sea zone, they are not in default. If they fail to provide the CPs to get their BP, they have not placed Japan in a default position, but they have lost the BP. Losing one or two BPs is their only ...

Re: USA violates the Trade with Japan no chit lost - Bug

Whichever power does not meet its obligation is in default. The USA is in default if it does not or cannot send resources. Japan is in default if it does not or cannot send BP.

Whichever side does not provide sufficient CP for transporting these is the one in default.

Re: Is it possible for a Betatester to edit my optionals with their version?

The beta tester debug does not have the capability to change options mid game.

But you can try doing it as I described here:

Re: Is this a bug?

If the Netherlands is incompletely conquered its naval units must adhere to FTC regardless of where its home country is chosen to be. The TRS should be able to base in any CW home country, including South Africa, because the Netherlands is aligned to the CW. It can also base in any CW territory (FRE...

Re: A Layman's Guide to Successfully Editing the MWiF Game File.

I don't know about the factories but the options are easy to edit, meaning easy to change, but some of them could confuse the game so much that it cannot be continued. All you can do is try it. Open the file with a text editor like Notepad. The sixth line down contains all the options in one line th...

It doesn't seem to be worth the trouble, IMO. Especially since some units have set-up or reinforcement placement issues if their names are changed.

Re: New to the game - Basic Questions

In WiFFE and presumably in MWiF, there are limits on Vichy lending. If Syria goes Vichy the oil Iraq lends to France must be passed on to the axis power that installed Vichy. And Vichy can't lend any other resources or BPs it controls to any axis powers unless it becomes hostile to an Allied power (...

Re: New to the game - Basic Questions

The biggest change IMO - especially considering I play both CE and MWiF, is the way re-org works. In CE you count motorized movement points from the unit to the HQ (somewhat like tracing supply) whereas in MWiF you count motorized movement points from the HQ to the unit. This can make a big differen...

Re: Resolution allowed when using laptop screen + TV screen

Here is a pic of a screen layout I am using. I have a wide screen monitor on the left that is set for a resolution of 3440 x 1440 and a regular monitor on the right set for 1920 x 1080. Think of it as your TV on the left and the laptop on the right. Of course that is arbitrary, you could reverse lef...

Re: Resolution allowed when using laptop screen + TV screen

On the laptop, right click on the desktop and choose Display Settings. You should see two screens, the laptop and the TV. You can set their resolutions separately. Usually the drop down for that will indicate what the maximum resolution is for the chosen device. Next, there should also be a setting ...

Re: New to the game - Basic Questions

Somewhere between 4 and 5 in the narrative, Japan should have DOW'd the USSR if it wanted to keep the oil.

It will get the oil for one turn if it can transport it or use it for re-org, because that happens before conquest.

Re: World in Flames: Issues when trying to play Fascist Tide

Not to disappoint, but the AI is some distance off and is planned to be ONLY for the Barbarossa scenario. Then if the single map scenarios gain focus (as described in the post above yours) there will be another extensive wait and they will not be equipped with an AI. I have tested some of the AI bet...

Re: Factory rail movement: a bug and a question

Odd that this bug has not been reported before. I opened your game, confirmed the problem, and then set the Moscow Militia to organized instead of disorganized. Then, after advancing the game past ground strikes, I was able to get the rail move phase and rail a factory. (Not the one in Odessa though...

Re: keeps crashing, why not remove email requirement in single player??

The game will always create a bug report in the World in Flames folder. That is what it is trying to send. I have so few crashes I just exit the message about email, but I do look at the bug report to try and understand what happened. From what you describe it sounds like there is something very wro...

Re: Assorted Questions

Way back when, there was a discussion on how the US entry chits should be modeled. A lot of research was done and the way it ended up was that the average turn for gear-up was J/F41 and war appropriations 6 or 7 turns thereafter. Aggressive Axis play tends to speed up the schedule and aggressive All...
