Re: New 08.00.00.00 Public Beta Update Available Now!

Actually I meant the very lengthy entry under "What's New in v07.00.00.00?"

But anyway, you are free to believe whatever you like. Patience is the practice of waiting with calm endurance, while hope is the expectation of a future good, and those are admirable qualities.

Did you read the AI Opponent Mode of Play section in the first post of the linked thread under "What's New in v07.00.01.00?"

Re: Isolated Reorg Limits issue

It is true that this is not allowed in RAW7.

The CE (most recent version of the game) has this rule for the end of the Reinforcement step: "Each major power may now voluntarily destroy any land or aircraft unit it controls (except partisans, see 13.1) if an enemy unit is in the same country or ...

Re: New 08.00.00.00 Public Beta Update Available Now!

The problem with Vassal (or Tabletop Simulator, or Cyberboard) for this game is that they all rely on the players to enforce the rules. Even with the best of intentions, even veteran players make mistakes. MWiF is great at enforcing the rules.

At the very best, the AI opponent for this game will ...

Re: Help me make sense of sea movment/combat...

Check your active options (CTRL-O) to see if you have "in the Presence of the Enemy" turned on. If so, it costs an extra movement point (not range though) to move into each sea zone occupied solely by enemy surface or naval air forces. This movement penalty does not apply to aborting units or those ...

I think for RAW8 it was changed to say all fractions are retained but as this is written in RAW7 it looks like 10 vs 4

Re: Current State Playability?

It is definitely playable. There are some minor bugs and there are complaints about the convoy system not always giving full production, but you should not encounter any game-breaking bugs. If you run into trouble, there are plenty of people on the forum willing to assist.

Re: New to the game - Basic Questions

A supply route to primary can use RR supply. The unit is on a coast and the Black Sea has a CP. I think it can trace overseas to a port for 1 and then along a RR to Hungary or Germany, with two to spare to get around interrupted RR hexes if need be. (Looks like the unit is in a zone with snow ...

Re: Can't restore saved games

Another thing - perhaps totally unrelated, even to the version of the program you are using, but I do recollect now that early on, people were having problems because the names in the saved games did not match the names they use on the forum. In other words you have to be sure that when you set up a ...

Have you tried different files? Have you tried with him doing the invite?

BTW 3.0.2 is quite an old version. The latest beta is 7.01.

Re: Can't restore saved games

1. How do I check the gameversion?

If you mean if the files are in sync, look in the red area to the right of a selected file. It shows the program version, the turn info and a lot of other stuff. For being sure you are in sync with your opponent, compare the "Next Entry" numbers. They should ...

If you don't have two files that match, you can zip the most trustworthy file and email it to your opponent.

Re: Can't restore saved games

I agree that trouble restoring saves is unheard of. Are you able to see your saved games using "Browse". Or even just use Explorer to find them. If it's Netplay you are using then you can't restore a game unless you are both on the Netplay forum. There is a facility to "Review" a Netplay game file ...

Re: Does the game do the Overruns right? What about this one

Looks right to me. Under Overruns it states: "You can continue moving the units after they overrun but, if they are in an enemy ZOC, they can only do so by further overrunning."

Overrun at 7-1 is for 1D10. Overrun at +16 is for 2D10 in RAW7.

Notably, in CE the 2D10 +16 was removed and no matter ...

Re: Units should be OOS, innit?

Yes, you can extend a RR path by 4 hexes. Secondary to primary is a RR path. You could even trace through two more non-RR hexes to connect that RR path around an obstructing hex.

Re: Vichy France & Bordeaux Enclave

I don't see a difference in the maps,
In CE Bordeaux is moved 1 hex southeast. The hex where it used to be is now just a woods hex. In CE, Bordeaux is now adjacent over land and attackable from all 6 surrounding hexes.
