RE: To Vichy not to Vichy

<t> It's always a fantasy of mine to completely conquer France (which is different than just vanilla conquer which is what you are asking about). With N. Africa conquered and BB's outside of France proper, the odds of colonies going Free France is 20% less (if memory serves) and the easiest colonies ...

RE: Question about supply

<t> We alway play that Kerch is not adjacent to the Black Sea, but rather the Sea of Azov. And, there is a straight between the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov. For supply to pass through a straight both sides of the straight must be friendly controlled. This may also be your problem (in addition to ...

<t> Fortune may favor the bold, but fate favors the wise.... I like using the surprise round of italy on the British in the med. I got 2 1-10 splits on a surprise round and killed 2 double-loaded green carriers and a Mot loaded 4-4 trans. Songs were sung, let me tell you. Didn't see the British in ...

The engineer is a bit tricky because if you use it's ability it effects how losses are assigned.

RE: War in China - House rules for more historical simulation

<t> The Chinese don't have to attack to be very successful in China. And, yes I always play with the extra Cities. Japan can get its supply with three HQ's and sticking with the rail lines. Japan will use their one ochit taking some mountain city and should buy a 2nd ochit by Saving 3-5BPs a turn ...

RE: War in China - House rules for more historical simulation

<t> Great ideas eouellet. I find that China is far to easily outmatched by Japan. There is just a play dynamic that make the number of units vs. the map size makes it too easy for a single div to go running around the backfield of either country with devastating consequences. Putting the entire ...

First, Games I wish could get made that were fun on these genres: <br/>
<br/>
1. Vietnam (I agree with the post). I have never found a war game above the squad/platoon level that worked in vietnam very well. But the mano-a-mano stuff could be fun ...

RE: A Tactical question

Use the Nav to flip the CW stack in Finland and then attack the OoS until of Str2 with the Fins at about 6:1 blitz! Sure, the odds are against it, but songs would be sung if it worked...!

I still don't understand why Yamamoto can't trace back along the rail until near burma and cross 3 hexes to the rail line in Burma and then trace all the way to Canton and use the fourth hex to cross the oceans to Japan?

<t> Would someone be kind and try to put the Japanese in supply in India?<br/>

Also note the Germans in Siberia no longer add to the garrison value in Russia. I've had problems where the Russian retreats into Siberia and when my troops follow, partisans spring up in the now barely garrisoned Russia and there goes the German supply lines.

<t> No discussion on the impact to CW on loss of oil for oiling ships (mostly, and Armor HQ or course). Without the oil from NEI (yet), is it possible that CW will have operational limitations with running their Navy? It would be great to pinch off the UK operationally while "they stand alone ...

<t> I kind of like this "new rule"<br/>
<br/>
By allowing ships to stay at sea in their current box, it prevents the absolute screwing that can occur when one side gets a double-turn. That is, goes last, and then goes first. For example, one side goes into a sea zone and works over the other sides ...

I believe, due to turn phasing, ship construction adds 1 turn (2 months) to build times. that is a 5/5 takes 5 turns (10 months) to be built, and then is placed in the construction pool AFTER build phase. Then is built out of the construction pool 1 turn later (2 months) and ...
