They got out through the port. You have to lock down pockets against the AI 100%, otherwise it will use the smallest means available to make a clean getaway. It needs all the help it can get.<br/>

Germans dissapear from a pocket

<t> Yesterday, in my full campaign played with the Soviets I surrounded roughly two dozen German (AI) divisions in Courland. It is august '44, three of them are rather strong but I have them fully surrounded but for a single small port which is 5 hexes to the rear of their frontline. A little to the ...

RE: Week 57

Reading up on your AAR now and I am really enjoying it. One question though. Do you use a mod to get all the placenames of the smaller towns on the map? It looks good and gives you more of an objective so I would like to use it as well.

Continue the good work!

How to crack the Crimea?

It is '42 and I bottled up the Crimea from the isthmus. I have not sealed the Crimea from the Kuban area yet however. The Soviet defence seams pretty strong, 50+ and fortifactions are 4 or 5 in strength. How do I crack it?

RE: Did I blow it?

<t> I was in about the same position you are in at the end of the winter (against AI). During the winter I had been pushed back 5 to 10 hexes on the entire front. Contrary to most here I think you should play on through '42. I did and am having a great game. At the moment I am in turn 72 (late ...

Had to format my HD recently so I only have the following games:

WITE
Sid Meiers Gettysburg
Hearts of Iron III
Battlefield: Bad Company 2
Napoleon: Total War

Before that I had many, many more.

RE: Checker Board defense in Winter GC 41

<t> That was very interesting to see. At turn 22 my situation was about the same as yours. I however did not employ a checkerboard defence and used the panzergroups as direct reserve for the frontline unit. It is now turn 32 and I am pushed back slowly but not pushed hard. I might lose Smolensk ...

Did anybody actually lose the GC?

Question is quite simple isn't it. Did anyone start the GC in '41 and either lost Moscow and Leningrad as the Soviets or was pushed back into Germany as the Axis. Thus, anybody lost from the AI or came close to doing so?
