RE: AllenK vs Mayhemizer Episode V: Das Experiment

<t> Interesting strategy and I will be very interested in seeing it how it will play out. I've repeatedly heard WiF veterans saying it can't work, but I'm not sure I agree. I've read about a few failures, but I felt the Axis made mistakes in these games.<br/>

Beyond the obvious thing about ...

RE: Warspite1 Keep Out!

Lisbon is an excellent naval base, I'd take it as soon as Gibraltar falls.

RE: 4 player E-mail: A

Great game! I'm following it with a great deal of interest. The axis had a hard time in France but the complete conquest and excellent progress in China seem to have tipped the balance a little bit toward the axis side.

Do you have a blitz loss taker in southern Spain?

RE: 4 player E-mail: Axis Only AAR

It might be a good idea to build out your navs and fighters that can get into the 2 box. The siege of Southern Spain and Gibraltar could drag on. It's also an excellent way to inflict casualties on the RN.

RE: 4 player E-mail: Axis Only AAR

<t> That said, since that stack is entirely made of spanish units who will be in supply anyway, and it's already fully flipped (I think) - you might not get better odds and you probably need that hex eventually. So I think that attack is a good idea, especially since the turn might not last much ...

RE: 4 player E-mail: Axis Only AAR

<t> I would tend to go along with JT's take on this. You should have sufficient troops to contain the CW in the NW and keep pushing for Gibraltar.<br/>
<br/>
Eventually you can turn the Bay of Biscay and NW spain into a deathtrap for the CW. You'll need sufficient fighters and Navs to swarm the 2 ...

I think there should be just 1 US entry roll for Spain, not 1 for Italy and Germany each. Is that a bug? I think I have seen that happen before too.

RE: 4 player E-mail: Axis Only AAR

Excellent progress in France. You may be trying to do too much in Poland though. I wouldn't rush it - you can't deploy most of the units there back to the western front anyway, there's no room.

<t> I would say it's making the attack on Belgium a lot more difficult, not just a little. Like Jagtiger said, the cost is at least an O-chit to crack the Dyle, with a chance of failure as well.<br/>
<br/>
Now if your opponent is not setup to move into the Dyle on the 2nd S/O axis impulse... then ...

It's strange and gamey, but not worth the 1.2 chits imo.

Most likely :)

I was pointing it out because until then, the US have a +3 to their DoW roll - so it seems to me like it's premature.

RE: BEF & The Netherlands

There's a great Fall Gelb walkthrough thread by Warspite on this forum. Rotterdam truly is the key to defending the low countries. You need to be ready to deploy 2 corps into Rotterdam at all times. Failure to do so makes a Fall Gelb strategy much more reliable and deadly.
