You bumped quite an old thread there.
I don't think the start is quite as bad as I originally thought. Just goes to show how important it is not to mess up your build order in the beginning, because it severely hinders your ability to get some early military for survival.

Oh, so operational range can only be 33, 25, 20, 16, 14, 12, 11, etc? I'll add that to my aircraft guide.

Wouldn't it be better if higher range increased the max amount of AP an aircraft has, instead of reducing the AP cost of movement, or would that also be problematic?

I don't think I've ever seen any hex range between 25 and 33. Ranges go from 1 to 25 and then jump straight to 33.<br/>

The nice thing about having arty in a direct battle is that their hits that pin and cause retreats are a lot more useful during a direct battle than in a ranged attack and they are somewhat protected from the enemy troops by being backline units.

Strategic movement works the same as with any other units. You can move them as far as your logistics points can carry it. The amount of logistics points used up per tile is the weight of the unit.

The "slow AI processing" made me think you should disable it when you want a more powerful AI, because "slow" instinctively ...
